Calpastatin gene in human testis.
Biochemistry and molecular biology international, 1994Antibodies present in a serum obtained from an infertile woman interacted with a 17.5 kD glycoprotein (BS-17 component) extracted from human sperm by Western blot. Polyclonal antibodies were raised against the BS-17 component and used to identify positive staining clones from a human testis lambda gt11 expression library.

Molecular diversity of erythrocyte calpastatin.
Biomedica biochimica acta, 1992According to the difference of molecular masses estimated by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, calpastatins are classified into two types, i.e. muscle type (110 kDa) and erythrocyte type (70 kDa). Muscle type calpastatin contains four internally repetitive sequences (Domains 1-4) and one nonhomologous sequence on the amino-terminal side (Domain L)
