DSPcam: A camera sensor system for surveillance networks
2009 Third ACM/IEEE International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras (ICDSC), 2009Surveillance is emerging as a key application of camera networks. In this paper, we describe our wireless smart camera system called DSPcam designed for real-time surveillance purposes. DSPcam has a Blackfin processor, CMOS image sensor and 802.11 b/g communication module.

On Barrier Coverage in Wireless Camera Sensor Networks
2010 24th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications, 2010The paper proposed a distributed algorithm, namely CoBRA (Cone-based Barrier coveRage Algorithm), to achieve barrier coverage in wireless camera sensor networks (WCSNs). To the best understanding, CoBRA is the first algorithm which try to deal with the barrier coverage issue in WCSNs.

Object coverage with camera rotation in visual sensor networks
Proceedings of the 6th International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference, 2010This paper is to study the object coverage problem in visual sensor networks. When sensors equipped camera with rotating capability in the monitoring environment are deployed randomly, the images of target object with circle shape may be captured by different camera nodes in different orientations at the same time. In order to achieve the full coverage

Robust Camera Lidar Sensor Fusion Via Deep Gated Information Fusion Network
2018 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV), 2018In this paper, we introduce a new deep learning architecture for camera and Lidar sensor fusion. The proposed scheme performs 2D object detection using the RGB camera image and the depth, height, and intensity images generated by projecting the 3D Lidar ...

Traffic modeling and prediction using camera sensor networks
Proceedings of the Fourth ACM/IEEE International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras, 2010We propose a Bayesian framework for modeling and predicting traffic patterns using information obtained from wireless sensor networks. For concreteness, we apply the proposed framework to a smart building application in which traffic patterns of humans are modeled and predicted through detection and matching of their images taken from cameras at ...

Snapshot: A Self-Calibration Protocol for Camera Sensor Networks
2006 3rd International Conference on Broadband Communications, Networks and Systems, 2006A camera sensor network is a wireless network of cameras designed for ad-hoc deployment. The camera sensors in such a network need to be properly calibrated by determining their location, orientation, and range. This paper presents Snapshot, an automated calibration protocol that is explicitly designed and optimized for camera sensor networks. Snapshot

A hybrid localization and tracking system in camera sensor networks
International Journal of Communication Systems, 2012SUMMARYPosition information is of vital importance in the various applications in energy‐constrained wireless sensor networks. It has to design a localization mechanism considering both precision and energy consumption factors. In this paper, we propose a hybrid localization system in wireless sensor networks, which is composed of coarse‐grained ...
