Mechanism‐Informed Machine Learning Enables Discovery of Oncolytic Peptides for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MISPOP integrates ensemble learning with membrane‐active physicochemical priors to identify Dermaseptin‐S9, a natural oncolytic peptide that disrupts tumor membranes, triggers immunogenic cell death, and shows strong antitumor activity. The study illustrates a mechanism‐informed route from peptide sequence data to cancer immunotherapy leads.

Activation of PDE2A moderates pathologically high cAMP/PKA responses to dopamine in dyskinetic mice

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease
Dopamine depletion in Parkinson's disease (PD) leads to severe motor and cognitive disturbances. While L-DOPA replacement therapy efficiently alleviates the motor symptoms, it leads to long-term complications, notably dyskinesia.

SIRT6‐Mediated Deacetylation of ATF3 Promotes Silica‐Induced Lung Fibrosis by Enhancing its Nuclear Import via Binding to Importin α

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SIRT6‐mediated ATF3 acetylation drives MGARP transcription and mitochondrial dysfunction in macrophages, promoting macrophage senescence and pulmonary fibrosis. Mechanistically, HSP70/Importin α competitively binds to ATF3, modulating its nuclear translocation.

ADCY4 inhibits cAMP-induced growth of breast cancer by inactivating FAK/AKT and ERK signaling but is frequently silenced by DNA methylation

open access: yesScientific Reports
Local increases in cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) caused by specific adenylyl cyclases (ACs) can selectively modulate related proteins. AC-selective drugs have an advantage in side effect control, and the specific AC may finally be considered as a

Complications after medullary thyroid carcinoma surgery: multicentre study of the SQRTPA and EUROCRINE® databases

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
This study investigated postoperative complications after surgery for medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) in Europe. Hypoparathyroidism, recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and bleeding requiring reoperation occurred in 170 (26·2 per cent), 62 (13·7 per cent) and 17 (2·6 per cent) patients respectively.

Phenotype Expansion of Malan Syndrome: New Cases and a Review of the Literature

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Malan syndrome is an ultra‐rare overgrowth syndrome caused by pathogenic variants or deletions in nuclear factor one X (NFIX) located at 19p13.2. Here, we report a comprehensive literature review and phenotyping of known patients with Malan syndrome and present a novel cohort of eight patients.

How Are Australian Local Governments Responding to the Homelessness Crisis? Findings From a National Study

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Australian local governments are facing intensifying pressures to respond to worsening visible homelessness. This paper presents one of the first national studies on how local governments are responding to these pressures, and the first since the onset of the post‐pandemic housing crisis.
