Immunochemical determinant of Candida parapsilosis

Carbohydrate Research, 1983
Acetolysis of Candida parapsilosis cell-wall D-mannan, obtained by alkali extraction and purified as a copper complex, gave six oligosaccharides by Bio-Gel P-2 filtration. Their chemical structure was examined by 1H-n.m.r. spectroscopy, methylation analysis, and partial acid hydrolysis. The structures of the penta- and hexa-saccharide were alpha-D-Manp-

Prosthetic knee Candida parapsilosis infection

The Journal of Arthroplasty, 1998
We report a 77-year-old man who developed Candida parapsilosis infection following total knee arthroplasty. Knee joint effusion was noted 2 weeks after surgery, and repeated cultures of aspirated fluid established the diagnosis of Candida parapsilosis infection 4 weeks after surgery.

Genetic determinants of virulence – Candida parapsilosis

Revista Iberoamericana de Micología, 2014
The global epidemiology of fungal infections is changing. While overall, Candida albicans remains the most common pathogen; several institutions in Europe, Asia and South America have reported the rapid emergence to predominance of Candida parapsilosis. This mini-review examines the impact of gene deletions achieved in C.

Resistance of Candida parapsilosis to drugs

Biology of the Cell, 1986
Several strains of Candida parapsilosis, isolated independently in our laboratory, had their resistance compared to a series of inhibitors which act either at the level of mitochondrial ribosomes (chloramphenicol, erythromycin, paromomycin) or at the level of mitochondrial respiration and oxidative phosphorylation (oligomycin, antimycin A, diuron ...

Candida parapsilosis Endocarditis

JAMA, 1980
ENDOCARDITIS due to bacterial and fungal pathogens is a special problem in the addict population, with more than 20% of fungal endocarditis being associated with drug addiction. 1 It has been postulated that intravenous (IV) injections of adulterated substances, such as illicit heroin, can cause fibrotic changes in cardiac valves predisposing to ...

Candida parapsilosis endocarditis without predisposing cause

International Journal of Cardiology, 1984
Fungal endocarditis has become increasingly frequent in the past decade and invariably occurs in association with predisposing factors. We report a case of Candida parapsilosis in a patient with no predisposing cause.

Endokarditis durch Candida parapsilosis

1963

Onychomycosis Caused by Candida parapsilosis

Nishi Nihon Hifuka, 1979

New urethanase from the yeast Candida parapsilosis

Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, 2020
Urethanase (EC 3.5.1.75) is an effective enzyme for removing ethyl carbamate (EC) present in alcoholic beverages. However, urethanase is not well studied and has not yet been developed for practical use. In this study, we report a new urethanase (CPUTNase) from the yeast Candida parapsilosis. Because C.

RADIATION RESISTANCE OF CANDIDA PARAPSILOSIS

Acta Pathologica Microbiologica Scandinavica Series B: Microbiology, 1982
The radiation resistance of 30 strains classified as Candida parapsilosis was examined. The strains originated partly from environments where ionizing radiation was used for research or routine purposes, partly from environments with no known possibility for selection of strains with unusually high radiation resistance.
