Nutritional evaluation of canola meals produced from new varieties of canola seeds for poultry

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2015
This study evaluated the nutritional value of 14 canola meals from new varieties of canola and compared them to conventional canola meal samples and soybean meals in chickens. Five experiments that included different sources of canola meals or soybean meals were conducted.

Growth Performance, Organ Weights and, Blood Parameters of Broilers Fed Diets Containing Graded Levels of Dietary Canola Meal and Supplemental Copper

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2013
An experiment with 495 one-day-old male broiler chicks was conducted to investigate the effects of different dietary levels of canola meal (0, 10, 20%) and copper (0, 125, 250 mg/kg) on performance, carcass characteristics and some blood parameters.

Comparison of broiler performance and carcass yields when fed diets containing genetically modified canola meal from event DP-Ø73496-4, near-isogenic canola meal, or commercial canola meals

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2014
Genetically modified (GM) canola (Brassica napus L.) line containing event DP-Ø73496-4 (hereafter referred to as 73496 canola) was produced by the insertion of the glyphosate acetyltransferase (gat4621) gene derived from Bacillus licheniformis.

In vitro digestion and fermentation characteristics of canola co-products simulate their digestion in the pig intestine

open access: yesAnimal, 2016
Canola co-products are sources of amino acid and energy in pig feeds, but their fermentation characteristics in the pig intestine are unknown. Thus, we determined the in vitro fermentation characteristics of the canola co-products Brassica juncea solvent-

Canola Meal Versus Cottonseed Meal as the Protein Supplement in Dairy Diets

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1986
Abstract Four trials were conducted to evaluate effects of incorporating cottonseed meal or canola meal in dairy diets. In Experiment 1, 36 Holstein cows, 12 first lactation and 24second or more lactations, were in two groups fed complete mixed diets containing either cottonseed meal or canola meal as the protein supplement.

Fe single atom-doped on canola meal-derived carbon for efficient oxygen reduction reaction

open access: yesNano Research
Pursuing both high catalytic performance and low cost is the key to developing applicable electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). In this work, we developed Fe single atom-doped on sulfur and nitrogen co-doped carbon catalysts (Fe1/SCN-cm ...
