The capacity coefficients of spherical conductors [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Containing Papers of a Mathematical and Physical Character, 1920
Abstract Maxwell pointed out that the self-capacity coefficient of a conductor is numerically equal to its charge when its potential is unity and all neighbouring conductors are at zero potential. He considered that the “proper definition of the capacity of a conductor” is to define it as being equal to the self-capacity coefficient.

Study of bond-slip performance and ultimate bearing capacity calculation under static and reciprocating action of folded perfobond shear keys

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2022
The PBL (Perfobond Leiste) shear key has advantages such as high load capacity and high restraint capacity. However, at the same time, there are also problems such as insufficient deformation capacity and low stiffness along the weak axis direction.

A numerical model for impacts of left-turn non-motorized vehicles on through lane capacity metrics [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Transport, 2020
There is a conflict between through motor vehicles and the left-turn non-motorized vehicles, and the capacity of straight-line motor vehicles decreases. This study analyzes the impacts of left-turn non-motorized vehicles on the capacity of through motor ...

Measuring Configural Superiority with the Capacity Coefficient

open access: yesJournal of Vision, 2013
Configural superiority effects are an important component of our understanding of visual perception of many types of stimuli. We propose the capacity coefficient as common framework for measuring configural superiority across a wide range of stimulus types. This measure has a number of advantages.

Note on the electric capacity coefficients of spheres [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Containing Papers of a Mathematical and Physical Character, 1912
Abstract In the 'Proceedings' of the Society, vol. 87, p. 109, Mr. Jeffery obtains a general solution of Laplace’s equation in a form suitable for physical problems in connection with two spheres. As an illustration he applies his solution to the problem of finding the capacity coefficients of two equal spheres, obtaining a result ...

Distribution Coefficient of Cesium and Cation Exchange Capacity of Minerals and Rocks [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1989
The sorption behavior of cesium on a variety of minerals and rocks has been investigated by batch equilibration using 137Cs. The distribution coefficient (Kd) of cesium increased with decreasing concentration of cesium and approached a constant value in dilute regions.
