Capillary electrophoresis

Analytical Chemistry, 1988
Electrophoretic separations carried out in capillary tubes offer the possibilities of rapid and automated analyses of small volumes of complex mixtures with unprecedented resolution and sensitivity. Some emerging developments of this new instrumentation are reviewed.

Capillary Extraction

Langmuir, 2011
A nonwetting slug placed at the end of a capillary tube is unstable: a small displacement results in the complete extraction of the liquid from the tube. We study two limiting cases, corresponding to a slug viscosity larger or smaller than that of the surrounding liquid.

Capillary electrophoresis

Current Opinion in Biotechnology, 1992
The past year has seen major advances in capillary electrophoresis in terms of broadening applicability. A variety of successful approaches to peptide/protein and DNA separation and analysis are now available, and techniques for saccharide analysis are developing rapidly.

Capillary electrophoresis

Current Opinion in Biotechnology, 1996
Capillary electorphoresis is rapidly maturing as a major technique for the analysis of proteins, nucleic acids, and glycoconjugates. Recently, efforts have concentrated on the application of its two most powerful ancillary techniques, laser-induced fluorescence detection and mass spectrometry.

Intraneuronal capillary

The Anatomical Record, 1963
AbstractMale rabbits, subjected to transection of the facial nerve, were narcotized and fixed by a two‐step perfusion procedure with a modified Heidenhain's Susa solution. The autopsy was delayed four hours or more. Serial sections of the rhombencephalon were stained with periodic acid‐Schiff and gallocyanin. The course of a capillary through the ...

Capillary Network Morphology and Capillary Flow

International Journal of Microcirculation, 1995
This paper examines the authors' research on capillary network morphology and the heterogeneity of capillary red cell (RBC) perfusion in skeletal muscle with the aim of demonstrating that capillary network structure plays a major role in determining flow distribution.

Capillary Isotachophoresis

1987
Isotachophoresis (displacement electrophoresis) belongs to one of the four basic electrophoretic separation techniques: Moving boundary electrophoresis, zone electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing. In the article presented capillary isotachophoresis is described.

Capillary pumps for autonomous capillary systems

Lab Chip, 2007
Autonomous capillary systems (CSs), where liquids are displaced by means of capillarity, are efficient, fast and convenient platforms for many bioanalytical applications. The proper functioning of these microfluidic devices requires displacing accurate volumes of liquids with precise flow rates.

Capillary Ultrastructure and Functional Capillary Density

International Journal of Microcirculation, 1995
We briefly summarize our findings on alterations in capillary structure in skeletal muscle and heart in response to up to 30 min of ischemia. In frog sartorius muscle, reactive hyperemia was absent in atrophy. Increased spatial heterogeneity of red cell velocity in individual capillaries was observed, as were increases in the percentage of capillaries ...
