Advances in capillary electrochromatography

ELECTROPHORESIS, 1997
AbstractCapillary electrochromatography (CEC) is a hybrid between capillary electrophoresis and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) that has gained popularity in recent years. CEC uses an electrically driven flow to transport the solutes through the chromatographic column.

Capillary Electrochromatography with Gradient Elution

Analytical Chemistry, 1997
A capillary electrochromatograph incorporating a gradient-forming system generally employed in HPLC is described, and the use of gradient elution in reversed phase electrochromatography is demonstrated by the separation of PTH-amino acids and steroid hormones.

Recent progress in capillary electrochromatography

Electrophoresis, 2000
Capillary electrochromatography (CEC) continues to captivate many separation scientists. A remarkable activity is apparent from the numerous publications in the literature using CEC. A review of the most recent progress in CEC is presented herein, covering an extensive fraction of the literature on CEC published from the year 1997 until the beginning ...

Capillary electrochromatography with macroporous particles

Journal of Chromatography A, 1999
The performance of macro-porous particles in capillary electrochromatography is studied. Three reversed-phase stationary phases with pore diameters between 500 A and 4000 A have been tested for separation efficiency and mobile phase velocity. With these stationary phases, a large portion of the total flow appears to be through the pores of particles ...

Nanoinjector for Capillary Electrophoresis and Capillary Electrochromatography

Analytical Chemistry, 2003
A rotary valve nanoinjector was devised for use in capillary electrophoresis (CE) and capillary electrochromatography (CEC). A fused-silica capillary tip was inserted in a small through-hole in the rotor. The narrow and short capillary tip, with an inner volume of 6-24 nL, was embedded in the hole using epoxy resin.

Recent applications in capillary electrochromatography

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2006
AbstractIn this review research papers on the application of CEC are summarized that have been published between May 2003 and May 2005. First, a short overview is given of trends and developments in CEC that may increase the applicability of the separation technique.

Immunoaffinity screening with capillary electrochromatography

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2002
Highly efficient capillary electrochromatographic separations of cardiac glycosides and other steroids are presented. Employing butyl-derivatized silica particles as stationary phase resulted in a nearly three times faster electroosmotic flow (EOF) compared to capillary electrochromatography (CEC) with octadecyl silica particles.

Recent applications in capillary electrochromatography

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2003
AbstractThe most recent and important applications in capillary electrochromatography (CEC) are summarized, covering literature published since May 2001. A selection of new developments in stationary phases for CEC is highlighted, and enantiomeric separations and chiral stationary phases are discussed.

Packing columns for capillary electrochromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 2000
Considering the current interest in capillary electrochromatography (CEC), performed in packed columns, we present the different methods used to pack capillary columns for use in CEC. General considerations on column packing are given and the column fabrication process is discussed in sufficient detail to allow instruction to those who are not ...

Stationary phases for capillary electrochromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 2000
This review summarizes the variety of stationary phases that have been employed for capillary electrochromatography (CEC) separations. Currently, about 70% of reported CEC research utilizes C18 stationary phases designed for liquid chromatography, but an increasing number of new materials (e.g., ion-exchange phases, sol-gel approaches, organic polymer ...
