The structure of the capsular polysaccharide of klebsiella k-type 31

Carbohydrate Research, 1979
The structure of the Klebsiella K31 capsular polysaccharide has been elucidated by periodate oxidation, methylation analysis, characterization of oligosaccharides obtained by partial, acid hydrolysis, and proton magnetic resonance. The polymer consists of pentasaccharide repeating-units having the following structure (1).

Structure of the type 5 capsular polysaccharide of Staphylococcus aureus

Carbohydrate Research, 1990
The Staphylococcus aureus type 5 capsular polysaccharide is composed of 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-L-fucose (1 part), 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-D-fucose (1 part), and 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-D-mannuronic acid (1 part). On the basis of methylation analysis, optical rotation, high-field one- and two-dimensional 1H- and 13C-n.m.r.

THE TYPE SPECIFIC CAPSULAR ANTIGEN OF PASTEURELLA MULTOCIDA

Canadian Journal of Medical Sciences, 1952
It has been demonstrated by means of two precipitation techniques and a capsular swelling test that Pasteurella multocida possesses a type specific capsular antigen presumably polysaccharide in nature. The antigens employed in the precipitation tests were recovered from virulent cultures by two techniques.

CAPSULAR POLYSACCHARIDES OF ESCHERICHIA COLI, TYPES K28A AND K34A

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1958
Examination of Escherichia coli isolates from 100 diagnostic stool, urine, or blood cultures yielded 13 mucoid strains, identified by strict biochemical criteria. Specific capsular and agglutination reactions identified four strains as K28A (O group 8), four as K34A (O group 9), and two as K42A, whereas three strains were serologically distinct from ...

The specific capsular polysaccharide of Streptococcus pneumoniae type 15F

Molecular Immunology, 1982
The specific capsular polysaccharide produced by Streptococcus pneumoniae type 15F (American type 15) is composed of D-galactose (3 parts), D-glucose (1 part), 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-D-glucose (1 part), phosphate (1 part) and O-acetyl (2 parts). Methylation, periodate oxidation, nitrous acid deamination, optimal rotation and nuclear magnetic resonance ...
