Evaluation of procedures for typing of group B Streptococcus: a retrospective study [PDF]
Background This study evaluates two procedures for typing of Streptococcus agalactiae (group B streptococci; GBS) isolates, using retrospective typing data from the period 2010 to 2014 with a commercial latex agglutination test (latex test) and the ...

Structural Studies of the Klebsiella Type 57 Capsular Polysaccharide. [PDF]
The structure of the capsular polysaccharide from Klebsiella type 57 has been investigated. Methylation analysis, uronic acid degradation, modified Smith degradation and graded acid hydrolysis were the principle methods used. Pure oligomeric fragments were isolated using the three methods of degradation and characterized by chemical and physical ...

Immunochemical studies on the capsular polysaccharides of pneumococcal type IX [PDF]
1. In addition to the previously identified components, d-glucose, N-acetyl-d-glucosamine and d-glucuronic acid, the immunologically specific capsular polysaccharide of pneumococcal type IX (polysaccharide S IX) is now found to contain mannosamine and galactosamine, probably as their N-acetyl derivatives. 2.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.
