Nutritional Composition and Potential Actions of Bioactive Compounds From Wild Laurus nobilis in the Management of Pulmonary Fibrosis‐Induced Cardiopathy in Rats

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
ABSTRACT Wild Laurus nobilis fruits, a well‐known dietary plant, have been documented to alleviate cardiopathy associated with pulmonary fibrosis, but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unspecified. This current study aimed to investigate the potential therapeutic effects of wild L.

Mechanism of captopril-induced drinking

open access: yes, 1982
Captopril (SQ 14,225), an orally active angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, increased drinking and produced water diuresis in rats when given orally at a dose of 100 mg.kg-1.day-1. Chronic intraperitoneal infusion of angiotensin (ANG) II or

Cardiac resynchronization therapy and pulmonary artery banding in advanced heart failure infants with left ventricular dilated cardiomyopathy and left bundle branch block

open access: yesPediatric Investigation, Volume 10, Issue 3, Page 219-228, June 2026.
The combination of cardiac resynchronization therapy and pulmonary artery banding was associated with substantial improvement in advanced heart failure infants with left ventricular dilated cardiomyopathy and left bundle branch block. Most patients exhibited marked improvement in clinical status and ventricular function, along with a reduction in QRS ...

Epicutaneous and Drug Provocation Testing in Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions: A 20‐Year Single‐Centre Experience

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 94, Issue 6, Page 677-688, June 2026.
This study provides reassuring evidence in favour of early skin testing in patients with SCARs, argues against the necessity of a 6‐month delay, and underscores the pivotal role of oral provocation tests in the safe reintroduction of essential therapies. ABSTRACT Background Identifying and discontinuing the offending drug(s) in severe cutaneous adverse

Nifedipine, captopril or sublingual nitroglycerin, which can reduce blood pressure the most?

open access: yesARYA Atherosclerosis, 2011
BACKGROUND: Hypertension (HTN) is one of the most important problems in all parts of the world. Although the disease is usually asymptomatic, its diagnosis and treatment are easy.

Exercise testing in hypertensive patients taking different angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2003
OBJECTIVE: To compare blood pressure response to dynamic exercise in hypertensive patients taking trandolapril or captopril. METHODS: We carried out a prospective, randomized, blinded study with 40 patients with primary hypertension and no other ...

Kinetic and structural characterisation of domain‐specific angiotensin I‐converting enzyme inhibition by captopril, rentiapril and zofenoprilat

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 11, Page 3399-3414, June 2026.
Angiotensin I‐converting enzyme (ACE) contains two catalytic domains (nACE and cACE) and is a key therapeutic target for hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Current ACE inhibitors (ACEi) nonselectively inhibit both domains, causing adverse effects. Selective inhibition requires an understanding of domain‐specific binding.

Effect of Antihipertensive Drugs And Banana (Musa Sp.) To Potassium Serum Levels of Hypertensive Wistar Rats Model

open access: yesJournal of Agromedicine and Medical Sciences (AMS), 2018
Consumption of antihypertensive drugs has the potential to cause drug and food interactions. Captopril/lisinopril can increase potassium levels by inhibiting the activity of renin angiotensin aldosterone. If captopril/lisinopril is consumed together with

Amentoflavone, a Preferentially TGF‐β Receptor 1 Inhibitor, Alleviates Cardiac Remodeling and Dysfunction Through Modulating the TGF‐β/Smad and MAPK Signaling Pathways

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, Volume 40, Issue 5, Page 2380-2396, May 2026.
Amentoflavone, a preferentially TGF‐ββ receptor 1 inhibitor, attenuates transverse aortic constriction (TAC)‐triggered cardiac hypertrophy, fibrosis, and dysfunction by suppressing downstream Smad and MAPK signaling cascades in cardiomyocytes and cardiac fibroblasts.
