Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Auto‐Downregulation of the Florigen FT Production Prevents Precocious Flowering in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that the leaf vein‐expressed FD complexes with the florigen FT to bind DNA motifs in FT promoter, which antagonizes CONSTANS‐mediated FT activation to feedback down‐regulate FT expression. This prevents an excessive induction of FT expression by inductive photoperiods, thereby precluding precocious transition to flowering in ...

Cysteine Redox State Governs the Condensation Pathway of Hendra Virus W Protein and Differentially Impacts Type I IFN and NF‐κB Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The cysteine redox state of the Hendra virus W (WHeV) protein controls assembly into fibrils or amorphous aggregates, with residues 2–29 required for fibrillation. In cells, WHeV forms different types of nuclear condensates. Impaired ability to form redox‐sensitive, non‐filamentous condensates reduces WHeV inhibition of the NF‐κB pathway, while it ...

Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

Ferroelectric Devices for In‐Memory and In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological systems, in‐memory and in‐sensor computing overcome von Neumann bottlenecks. Ferroelectric devices can mimic synaptic functions and sense stimuli like light or force, therefore are ideal for these paradigms. This review introduces the ferroelectric devices applied for in‐memory and in‐sensor computing, covering their structures ...

Following Cars With Elastic Bands

2018 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV), 2018
We propose a trajectory planning approach for autonomous vehicles in highly dynamic traffic scenarios, using elastic bands to follow the observed trajectories of other vehicles. The focus of this paper is on the initialization of the elastic band. The proposed method does not rely on a map. We tested our method using recorded urban traffic data.

Research of Drivers' Car-Following Behavior with Car-Following Suggestion

CICTP 2012, 2012
Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure System (CVIS) will bring a more precise control of drivers' car-following behavior and benefit traffic flow stability and efficiency. In order to reflect the influence of CVIS on drivers' behavior, a car-following experimental suggestion system has been built.

Pinning control of a new car-following model with the consideration of preceding and following cars

2015 IEEE Conference on Control Applications (CCA), 2015
Based on the early work of Yao et al., an extended car-following model with the consideration of information from preceding and following cars is proposed. In the model, vehicles can communicate with each other. The coupled relationship between traffic network and communication network is formulated as a two-layer supernetwork. A vehicle is regarded as

Active Deceleration Support in Car Following

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Part A: Systems and Humans, 2010
A haptic gas pedal feedback system is developed that provides car-following information via haptic cues from the gas pedal. During normal car-following situations, the haptic feedback (HF) cues were sufficient to reduce control activity and improve car-following performance. However, in more critical following situations, drivers use the brake pedal to
