THE PROBABILISTIC ASSESSMENT OF CAUSALITY IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY VEHICLES

open access: yesNauka ta progres transportu, 2008
In the article the substantiation of existence of causconsequence relation between different elements of railway vehicles is presented. The probability assessment of mutual relation between technical conditions of separate elements is also presented.

Desire to change one's multimodality and its relationship to the use of different transport means [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Using data collected from French employees of a transportation institute and residents of the US San Francisco Bay Area, we operationalize a segmentation of mobility patterns based on objective, subjective, and desired amounts of mobility by various ...

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CAR OWNERSHIP AND SHARE OF TRIPS ON PASSENGER CARS IN CITIES

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Studies, 2020
In order to plan and predict the development of urban transport systems, it is necessary to understand the relationships between car ownership and car usage indicators for various options of urban transport policy.

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Impact on Car Ownership of Local Variation in Access to Public Transport [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper reports on a project funded by the Volvo Research Foundations. It is international in nature and focuses on the impact of urban public transport, and light rail in particular, on restraining the growth of (or even reducing) local car ownership

Energy Chain Analysis of Passenger Car Transport

open access: yes, 2011
Transport makes up 20 percent of the World’s energy use; in OECD countries this has exceeded 30 percent. The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that the global energy consumption will increase by 2.1 percent annually, a growth rate that is ...

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Estimating individual driving distance by car and public transport use in Sweden [PDF]

open access: yes
How much to drive, and how much to use public transport, are modelled as three- and two level decisions, respectively, based on micro-data for Sweden. The choices whether to have a car, whether to drive given access to a car, and how much to drive given ...
