Accessibility of general practitioners and selected specialist physicians by car and by public transport in a rural region of Germany

open access: yesBMC Health Services Research, 2016
BackgroundThe accessibility of medical care facilities in sparsely populated rural regions is relevant especially for elderly people which often represent a large segment of the population in such regions. Elderly people have higher morbidity risks and a

Coaxially Electrospun Myocardial dECM‐ Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds Demonstrate Enhanced Cardiomyocyte Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.

Obstacles on the path: An exposition of the experience of car-free living

open access: yes, 2010
The contemporary focus by local and central government on the promotion of sustainable transport options has highlighted the need for commuting to move away from the current dependence on private cars to more public and active (walking and cycling) modes

Composition of positions for car-repair flexible flow and method of car transportation among them by means of transporter

open access: yesScience and Transport Progress, 2012
Main causes affecting adversely functioning the traditional car-repair flow lines are defined. The composition of car-repair section using non-synchronous and flexible flow of cars repair is proposed. Design features of different transport vehicles for moving the rolling stock among parallel tracks are analyzed.

Affinity‐Tuned Albumin Hitchhiking Extends the Bioorthogonal Capture Window in Pretargeting Radiotheranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.

Potential for car use reduction through a simulation approach: Paris and Lyon case studies [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of the present study is to evaluate the possible extent of modal shifts from car use to 'alternative modes' (public transport, cycling, walking) without any change in individual patterns of activity.

Natural Dietary Supplementation with Elionurus muticus Essential Oil Enhances Growth Performance and Modulates Physiological Responses to Transport Stress in Nile Tilapia

open access: yesFishes
This study evaluated the effects of dietary Elionurus muticus essential oil (EMEO) on growth performance, physiological responses, and resistance to car transport stress in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

Analysis of principal trends of mobility related to location policy, car ownership, supply policy and ageing of population [PDF]

open access: yes
In transport analysis, we generally have several correlative explanatory variables when we want to explain the evolution of a factor. Therefore the quantification of the contribution of each variable in the evolution of our study object is often ...
