Practical Synthesis of Unsymmetrical Ureas from Isopropenyl Carbamates

open access: yes, 2016
A very convenient method for the synthesis of unsymmetrical ureas is described, based on isopropenyl carbamates. The synthetic efficiency of traditional methods for urea formation, such as use of phosgene or alkyl and aryl carbamates, is limited by the ...

Toxicity of Certain Chemical Compounds Against Aphids, Leafhoppers AND Related Predators on Faba Bean Fields [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection and Pathology
Faba bean, Vicia faba L., is a main nutritive source for human beings and their domestic animals. Many insect pests have been recorded on Vicia faba such as aphids, leafhoppers which are the most harmful insects, causing a considerable loss in yield ...

Two new stilbene carbamates

open access: yes, 1995
The syntheses and solid-state structures of two stilbene carbamates, 4-[2-(4-nitrophenyl)]phenylcarbamic acid ethyl ester, C17H16N2O4,(2), are described. The crystallization from tetrahydrofuran solutions occurs in the monoclinic system with space group

Toward Chromoselective Transformations in Biological Systems: Perspectives and Challenges

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Controlling biological systems with small‐molecule chromophores has evolved into a powerful strategy and is applied from chemical biology to medicine. However, the complexity of in vivo systems cannot be matched by a single wavelength of light. Developing methods to combine and individually control multiple chromophores is crucial.

Assessment of Organophosphate and Carbamate Pesticide Residues in Cigarette Tobacco with a Novel Cell Biosensor

open access: yesSensors, 2008
The conventional analysis of pesticide residues in analytical commodities, such as tobacco and tobacco products is a labor intensive procedure, since it is necessary to cover a wide range of different chemicals, using a single procedure.

Carbamates as Potential Prodrugs and a New Warhead for HDAC Inhibition

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
We designed and synthesized carbamates of the clinically-approved HDAC (histone deacetylase) inhibitor vorinostat (suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid, SAHA) in order to validate our previously-proposed hypothesis that these carbamates might serve as ...

Unlocking Catalyst Activation as a Critical Bottleneck in Cross‐Coupling Reactions: Room‐Temperature Couplings of Weak Nucleophiles Enabled by [Pd(1‐MeNAP)TFA]2 Precatalysts

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
In many Pd‐catalyzed cross‐couplings, catalyst performance has been found to be limited by catalyst activation. Methylnaphthyl (MeNAP) palladium trifluoroacetate dimers are presented as easy‐to‐store and easy‐to‐handle precursors, which rapidly activate under reaction conditions, even when only weakly coordinating, non‐reducing nucleophiles are present.

Enantioselective Rh-Catalyzed Hydrogenation of Enol Acetates and Enol Carbamates with Monodentate Phosphoramidites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Monodentate phosphoramidites, in particular PipPhos and its octahydro analogue, are excellent ligands for the rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of aromatic enol acetates, enol carbamates, and 2-dienol carbamates up to 98% ee.

O-Fluoromethyl carboxylates and O-fluoromethyl carbamates

open access: yes
The fluoride catalyzed reaction between acyl fluorides and monomeric formaldehyde affords fluoromethyl carboxylates in acceptable yields. Fluoromethyl fluoroformate, readily accessible from the corresponding dichloro compd., condenses with amines to give
