Biological potential of carbazole derivatives
European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2015Carbazole skeleton is the key structural motif of many biologically active compounds including synthetic and natural products. Over the past several years, a large number of research highlighting the significance of carbazole derivatives has been reported in the literature.

Novel carbazole derivatives as NPY Y1 antagonists
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2007The synthesis of a series of carbazole derivatives and their SAR at the NPY Y1 receptor is described. Modulation of physicochemical properties by appropriate decoration led to the identification of a high-affinity NPY Y1 antagonist that shows high brain penetration and modest oral bioavailability.

Light-Emitting Carbazole Derivatives: Potential Electroluminescent Materials
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2001Stable carbazole derivatives that contain peripheral diarylamines at the 3- and 6-positions and an ethyl or aryl substituent at the 9-position of the carbazole moiety have been synthesized via palladium-catalyzed C-N bond formation. These new carbazole compounds (carbs) are amorphous with high glass transition temperatures (T(g), 120-194 degrees C) and

The successful iron chloride-catalyzed Scholl reactions toward a series of polyphenylated carbazole derivatives differing in their N-substitution are described. These reactions were found to be compatible over a series of polyaryls possessing fluoro, methoxy, and methyl functional groups, subsequently leading to the synthesis of partially and ...

[Antimycobacterial acting carbazole derivatives].
Archiv der Pharmazie, 1995Carbazoles are synthesized and tested for antimycobacterial properties (M. tuberculosis H 37 Ra, Middlebrook-7H9-broth). The different antimycobacterial properties of diastereomeres are examined using compounds 32 and 33, those of a racemic compound and the (+)-enantiomer are tested with (+/-)-12/(+)-12 and (+/-)-5/(+)-5, respectively.

Distribution of carbazole derivatives in petroleum
Organic Geochemistry, 1984Abstract Carbazole, its alkyl derivatives and higher benzologs have been selectively isolated from six different crude oils. In all samples, benzocarbazoles are major constituents of a series which may extend up to dibenzocarbazole derivatives. The distribution includes unsubstituted parent compounds and shows a maximum content of methyl and dimethyl
