Practical Microwave Synthesis of Carbazole Aldehydes for the Development of DNA-Binding Ligands

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Microwave formylation of carbazole derivatives was investigated and 3-monoaldehydes were obtained in high yield. A potential DNA-binding ligand, 3-[(3-ethyl)-2-vinylbenzothiazolium]-9-N-ethyl carbazole iodide, was synthesized and characterized including ...

Synthesis, Antibacterial, and Antifungal Activities of Novel Pyridazino Carbazoles

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2013
Strategy to synthesize novel carbazole, that is, 2,3-dihydro-2-phenyl-6H-pyridazino[4, 5-b]carbazole-1,4-dione (2), is developed as key reaction. This novel compound showed ideal reactivity toward different functional groups like methyl, carboxylic ...

Synthesis and Properties of Alternating Vinylene- Benzothiadiazole-Based Copolymers with Carbazole and Fluorene Derivatives for Photovoltaic Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2014
Three vinylene-benzothiadiazole based alternating copolymers with carbazole, 3,6-difluoro carbazole and fluorene were prepared via Suzuki coupling polymerisation in the presence of catalytic amounts of palladium (II) acetate Pd(OAc)2 and tri-ortho ...

Exciton Binding Energy of Phosphorescent Emitter Molecules in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Energy level alignment is key to efficient OLED design, yet determining LUMO energies remains challenging. A methodology based on field‐induced dissociation and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is presented to extract LUMO energies of iridium‐based phosphorescent emitters from their exciton binding energy.

Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.

Experimental, quantum chemical and molecular dynamic simulations studies on the corrosion inhibition of mild steel by some carbazole derivatives

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Five selected carbazole derivatives, namely carbazole, 3,6-dibromocarbazole, 2-hydroxycarbazole, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole and 9-(2-ethylhexyl)carbazole-3,6-dicarboxaldehyde were investigated for their inhibitive effects on Desulfovibrio vulgaris (D ...

Crystal structures of three carbazole derivatives: 12-ethyl-7-phenylsulfonyl-7H-benzofuro[2,3-b]carbazole, (1), 2-(4,5-dimethoxy-2-nitrophenyl)-4-hydroxy-9-phenylsulfonyl-9H-carbazole-3-carbaldehyde, (2), and 12-phenyl-7-phenylsulfonyl-7H-benzofuro[2,3-b]carbazole, (3)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2016
The three title compounds, C26H19NO3S, (1), C27H20N2O8S, (2), and C30H19NO3S, (3), are carbazole derivatives, where (1) and (3) are heterocycle-containing carbazoles with a benzofuran moiety fused to a carbazole unit.

Unified Analytical Framework for Understanding the Operational Stability of Blue Phosphorescent OLEDs: Quantitative Insights Into Exciton Recycling and Bimolecular Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Blue phosphorescent OLEDs remain limited by poor operational stability. Here, a unified analytical framework integrating transient photoluminescence and magneto‐electroluminescence is developed to correlate intrinsic material photophysics with electrically driven degradation.

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...
