N-thioalkylcarbazoles derivatives as new anti-proliferative agents: synthesis, characterisation and molecular mechanism evaluation

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2018
Synthetic or natural carbazole derivatives constitute an interesting class of heterocycles, which showed several pharmaceutical properties and occupied a promising place as antitumour tools in preclinical studies. They target several cellular key-points,

Dopant‐Tailored Matrices: A Crystal Engineering Strategy for Organic Room‐Temperature Phosphorescent Host–Guest Systems and Beyond

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Rather than selecting dopants to match a pre‐existing host matrix, the dopant‐tailored matrix strategy involves rational engineering of host matrices around a preselected class of dopants by targeting matrix packing motifs that promote synergistic host‐dopant interactions upon doping.

Efficient OLEDs Fabricated by Solution Process Based on Carbazole and Thienopyrrolediones Derivatives

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Four low molecular weight compounds—three of them new, two of them with carbazole (Cz) as functional group and the other two with thienopyrroledione (TPD) group—were used as emitting materials in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Borylcyclopropanes: Synthetic Strategies and Applications

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Borylcyclopropanes (cyclopropanes bearing a boron substituent) sit at the intersection of two privileged frameworks in synthesis. This review provides the first exhaustive survey of their chemistry, spanning metal–carbene, nucleophilic cyclization, radical, hydroboration, and C─H activation routes, and documenting applications in medicinal chemistry ...

A Multi‐Stimuli Transformational Network of Benzil‐Based Pd(II) Assemblies

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Incorporation of a flexible and chemically reactive benzil backbone into the ligand structure allows it to access multiple conformations, enabling the formation of diverse homo‐ and heteroleptic Pd(II) assemblies with different nuclearities and topologies.

Rapidly Diversifying Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Frameworks With Permanent Porosity

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This article reviews diversifying hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) with permanent porosity reported over the past 15 years, based on the molecular structures of their constituent tectons. Furthermore, several distinctive aspects and concepts are described, such as permanent porosity, isostructural (isoreticular) HOFs, and multicomponent mixed ...

Nitration of 5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazoles and synthetic applications of their nitro-substituted derivatives

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
A new general approach to double nitration of 6,12-di(hetero)aryl-substituted and 6,12-unsubstituted 5,11-dialkyl-5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazoles by acetyl nitrate has been developed to obtain their 2,8-dinitro and 6,12-dinitro derivatives ...

Force‐Induced Control of Circularly Polarized Luminescence With Rotaxane Architecture

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Force‐induced reversible on/off switching of circularly polarized luminescence is achieved with a rotaxane‐based supramolecular mechanophore. The mechanophore, featuring a chiral helicene luminophore, is incorporated as a first network cross‐linker into a double‐network organogel.
