A new general approach to double nitration of 6,12-di(hetero)aryl-substituted and 6,12-unsubstituted 5,11-dialkyl-5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazoles by acetyl nitrate has been developed to obtain their 2,8-dinitro and 6,12-dinitro derivatives ...

9-[3-(Carbazol-9-yl)-5-methylphenyl]carbazole [PDF]
The title compound, C31H22N2, crystallizes with two symmetry-independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The mol-ecules have slightly different conformations, the dihedral angles between the central phenyl ring and the carbazolyl groups being 56.29 (4) and 59.57 (4)° in one mol-ecule and 48.71 (4) and 65.47 (4)° in the other.

Tuneable optical gain and broadband lasing driven in electrospun polymer fibers by high dye concentration [PDF]
The optical gain of blue light-emitting electrospun polystyrene fibers doped with a linear multi-fragment molecular dye based on the combination of fluorine-carbazole functional units is investigated, with the aim of correlating emission properties and the specific material architecture made of either aligned or disordered fibers.

Organic persistent room temperature phosphorescence enabled by carbazole impurity
The molecular design of metal-free organic phosphors is essential for realizing persistent room-temperature phosphorescence (pRTP) despite its spin-forbidden nature.

A photophysical and spectroelectrochemical study on N-phenyl-carbazoles and their oxidized species [PDF]
A series of N-phenyl-carbazole derivatives namely TCz (N-tolyl-carbazol), TCz-TCz (a 3,3´-linked dimer), and CzPh-CH2-PhCz (a methylene-bridged N-phenyl-carbazole), have been synthesized and studied by means of absorption and fluorescence spectra, DFT ...

Molecular Orientations of Delayed Fluorescent Emitters in a Series of Carbazole-Based Host Materials
Molecular orientation is one of the most crucial factors to boost the efficiency of organic light-emitting devices. However, active control of molecular orientation of the emitter molecule by the host molecule is rarely realized so far, and the ...

3-(Trimethylsilylethynyl)carbazole
The title compound, [Si(CH3)3(C14H8N)] is a TMS-protected mono-alkyne. It is used as a model species for platinum σ-acetylide compounds of which it is a precursor. Such compounds are of interest due to the extended π-conjugation through the hetero-aromatic linker unit in the backbone.
