Advanced Dental Composite Technology via Bisilanized Dual‐Action Nanofillers for Biofilm Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal research strategy has led to the development of an innovative resin‐based composite (RBC) with dual antibacterial action. The S_CM‐RBC formula showed strong antibiofilm activity, excellent mechanical strength, and biosafety. It effectively controlled oral bacteria in prevention of caries recurrence, and maintained pulp health in a rat ...

Kinetics and mechanisms of high-temperature oxidation in BCC and FCC high-alloy Fe-based alloys with high volume fraction of carbides

open access: yesMaterials & Design
This study conducts a detailed analysis of high-temperature oxidation and microstructural evolution in two high-alloy Fe-based alloys, each characterized by a high-volume fraction of carbides but differentiated by their matrices − body-centered cubic (BCC) and face-centered cubic (FCC), which was achieved by the addition of nickel. By investigating the

Rheology of silicon carbide/vinyl ester nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Silicon carbide (SiC) nanoparticles with no surface treatment raise the viscosity of a vinyl ester resin much more intensely than micrometer-size SiC particles. An effective dispersant generally causes a reduction in the resin viscosity attributed to its

Impedance‐Matched High‐Overtone Thickness‐Shear Bulk Acoustic Resonators With Scalable Mode Volume

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bottom‐electrode‐free high‐overtone bulk acoustic resonator is achieved by lateral excitation of antisymmetric thickness‐shear modes on a lithium‐niobate‐on‐silicon platform. Planar electrode geometry eliminates conventional loading along the resonance path and confines acoustic energy within the electrode gap.

V2CTx MXene as a Sacrificial Promoter for NiFe Catalyst for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
These findings demonstrate that V2CTx functions beyond passive conductive support as an active electronic participant whose structural legacy sustains durable performance even after vanadium leaching in Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) Electrolysers. ABSTRACT Nickel‐iron layered double hydroxides (NiFe‐LDH) show excellent activity, their poor conductivity

Micro‐Galvanic Coupling Programs the Therapeutic Zinc Ion Window to Reconfigure Immune Cascades for Pro‐Regenerative Bone Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study utilized alloy micro‐galvanic coupling design to regulate the release of essential elements, thereby programming immune responses and promoting regeneration. The sacrificial anodic process of Zn‐0.8Mg reduced Zn2+ release compared to the “large cathode‐small anode” coupling of Zn‐0.8Fe.
