The role of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 as a tumour marker of oesophageal cancer [PDF]
Carcinoma of the oesophagus is endemic in certain well demarcated areas throughout the world, and a method of screening population groups at high risk for oesophageal cancer is urgently needed. In this study the sensitivity and specificity of the carbohydrate antigen CA19-9 as a marker of carcinoma of the oesophagus in African patients was examined ...

Engineering Microbial Particles for Next‐Generation Biomedical Platforms
Microbe‐derived particles (MDPs), which include extracellular vesicles, outer membrane vesicles, inclusion bodies, polysaccharide particles, and virus‐like particles, represent a rapidly expanding category of bioinspired nanomaterials. With their natural origin, intrinsic biocompatibility, and highly programmable functionality, MDPs serve as a ...

This study applied AI to quantify multidimensional body composition from CT images in gastric cancer and healthy controls. Distinct sex‐specific patterns and disease‐related alterations were identified and were associated with survival. Higher muscle and fat measures were linked to improved outcomes.

Abstract A 58-year-old Italian man was incidentally discovered to have an elevated carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA-19-9) level of 132 U/mL on routine blood testing. Multisystem imaging studies revealed multiple benign-appearing cysts of the liver and single cysts in the pancreas and kidney parenchyma.

NMI Regulates Adipose Adaptive Thermogenesis Through TLR4/IRF3 Signaling to Promote Obesity
Adipose tissue‐derived NMI is secreted under metabolic stress and suppresses adaptive thermogenesis through TLR4/IRF3 signaling, repressing the PPARα/PGC‐1α/UCP1 thermogenic transcriptional program. Genetic ablation or anti ‐ NMI monoclonal antibody treatment enhances energy expenditure, protects against DIO, and ameliorates adipose tissue inflammation,

Monovalent N‐acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc)‐modified polyrotaxane enables efficient liver targeting by utilizing ligand mobility. The sliding and rotating cyclic components i.e., cyclodextrin in the polyrotaxane dynamically cluster GalNAc moieties, thereby mimicking trivalent interactions with asialoglycoprotein receptors.
