Nanomaterials for Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment: Advances, Opportunities and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Predictive value of carcinoembryonic and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 related to some clinical, endoscopic and histological colorectal cancer characteristics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Medical Biochemistry, 2016
Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is an important oncological and public health problem worldwide, including Serbia. Unfortunately, half of the patients are recognized in an advanced stage of the disease, therefore, early detection through specific ...

A Chemically Defined Four‐Component Self‐Adjuvanting Tn Vaccine Activating Mincle, FcγR, and CD206 for Enhanced Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fully synthetic four‐component vaccine has been developed combining Tn antigen, vizantin (Mincle agonist), rhamnose (antibody recruitment), and mannose (CD206 targeting). By synergistically activating Mincle, FcγR, and CD206 pathways, it elicits strong IgG switching and cytotoxic T‐cells, significantly inhibiting tumors in mice.

Liver Abscess With a Markedly High Level of Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9

open access: yesGastroenterology Research, 2012
Serological tumor markers are useful for detection of malignancies and evaluation of disease progression. However, some markers are rarely elevated in patients with benign diseases and without malignancies. We herein present a case of a liver abscess with a highly elevated carbohydrate antigen (CA 19-9) level in both the serum and abscess fluid.

An Integrative Strategy Delineates Modular Metabolic Remodeling and Potential Therapeutic Targets Across Metabolic Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrative single‐cell atlas across multiple metabolic diseases reveals coordinated metabolic modules and disease‐shared versus disease‐specific pathway activities. By systematically comparing scoring strategies, a robust RankAve framework is established. Coupled with network analysis and drug‐target prediction, this resource uncovers cross‐disease

The KIF6‐RBP Complex Orchestrates mRNA Transport Required for Sperm Flagellar Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two homozygous deleterious KIF6 variants are identified in unrelated men with impaired sperm motility. Mouse models and multi‐omics analyses reveal that KIF6 cooperates with the RNA‐binding proteins FMRP and FXR1 to deliver mRNAs essential for sperm flagellar assembly, linking disrupted mRNA transport to reduced abundance of key structural and ...

Metagenomic Association Uncovers Host Genotype‐Structured Rhizobacterial Networks and Novel Taxa That Enhance Soybean Salt Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An STI‐guided metagenomic association framework links soybean salt‐tolerance phenotypes with rhizosphere microbiome composition and network organization in natural saline soils. The approach identifies candidate beneficial taxa, including Thalassospira xiamenensis, and provides an efficient strategy for mining stress‐protective microbes from native ...

Artificial Host‐Guest Recognition Directs Glycometabolically Engineered Macrophages to Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glycoengineered supramolecular macrophages (GSAR‐M) are developed using glycometabolic labeling for bioorthogonal host‐guest tumor targeting. This engineering approach unexpectedly enhances macrophage migration, phagocytosis, and pseudopodia formation. Consequently, GSAR‐M demonstrate robust tumor‐targeting specificity, effectively arrest tumor growth,

Acute Cholecystitis with Significantly Elevated Levels of Serum Carbohydrate Antigen 19-9

open access: yesCase Reports in Gastroenterology, 2016
Serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9), a marker of malignant tumors, is generally slightly elevated in benign conditions. We report a case of acute cholecystitis with a significantly elevated level of serum CA 19-9 based on positron emission ...

Multi‐Omics Profiling of High‐Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer Reveals an Inflammation‐Related Lipid Metabolism Subtype Associated With Platinum Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through integrated proteomic and metabolomic profiling, Zhao et al. identified three molecular subtypes of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. The high‐risk subtype exhibits activated arachidonic acid metabolism and cyclooxygenase‐2 overexpression. This metabolic axis promotes M2‐like macrophage infiltration, which contributes to platinum resistance ...
