Carbon Dioxide in Exoplanetary Atmospheres: Rarely Dominant Compared to Carbon Monoxide and Water in Hot, Hydrogen-dominated Atmospheres [PDF]
, 2015We present a comprehensive study of the abundance of carbon dioxide in exoplanetary atmospheres in hot, hydrogen-dominated atmospheres. We construct novel analytical models of systems in chemical equilibrium that include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water, methane and acetylene and relate the equilibrium constants of the chemical reactions to ...

Thermophysical properties of liquid carbon dioxide under shock compressions: Quantum molecular dynamic simulations [PDF]
, 2010Quantum molecular dynamic simulations are introduced to study the dynamical, electrical, and optical properties of carbon dioxide under dynamic compressions. The principal Hugoniot derived from the calculated equation of states is demonstrated to be well accordant with experimental results.

Screening of gallate-based metal-organic frameworks for single-component CO2 and CH4 gas [PDF]
E3S Web of Conferences, 2021Adsorption using porous adsorbents is widely applied in carbon dioxide (CO2) capture due to its potential energy saving with low operating cost. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are preferable over conventional adsorbents as MOFs have tunable structure ...

Breeding, Biosorption Characteristics, and Mechanism of a Lead-Resistant Strain
Toxics, 2023To effectively carry out the bioremediation of a Pb2+ polluted environment, a lead-tolerant strain named D1 was screened from the activated sludge of a factory in Hefei, and its lead removal in a solution with Pb2+ concentration of 200 mg/L could reach ...

The biology of carbon dioxide [PDF]
Current Biology, 2005Our musings about the timing and selection pressures on the evolution of CO2 signal transduction pathways and mechanisms of CCMs are unlikely to progress further until we have identified and characterized at the molecular genetic level more of the key components involved in these two processes.

Insights into the activity of single-atom Fe-N-C catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction
Nature Communications, 2022It is of high importance to understand the origin of single-atom Fe-N4 activity in oxygen reduction reaction. Here, the authors provide a model to understand the catalytic activity of Fe-N4 site from the spatial structure and energy level of the frontier
