ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Medicine, 2011
Carbon monoxide is formed as a result of combustion of any carbon compound and can lead to hypoxia in many organs including the brain and the heart. Carbon monoxide poisoning in the United States is the leading cause of the fatal poisonings.

Diatomic infrared gasdynamic laser permits selection of wavelengths [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
Laser utilizes infrared-active diatomic gas which emits laser energy from numerous upper vibrational levels. Wavelengths depend on particular vibration-rotation transitions and have been obtained throughout the band between 4.78 and 5.4 microns, for ...

Lithium Squarate as Sacrificing Electrolyte Additive for Prelithiation: Case Study in Zero‐Excess Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Active lithium loss (ALL) and capacity fade can be compensated by prelithiation, apparently simple via sacrificing additives e.g., lithium squarates. However, as a cathode additive it ruptures the cathode via gas evolution, while as an electrolyte additive it gets reductively depleted on anode side in course of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI ...

Leveraging Reaction Heterogeneity in Bimodal Cathodes to Enhance Longevity of SiO/Graphite | NCM Full cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bimodal cathode composed of single‐ and polycrystalline NCM particles induces end‐of‐discharge overpotential rise via reaction heterogeneity, effectively regulating the depth of discharge of SiO in SiO/graphite anodes. This design suppresses mechanical degradation of SiO and enables long‐term cycling stability without compromising the energy density ...

Microwave Ultrafast Heating on Iron‐based Nanogap Catalysts for CO2 Reduction Coupling with Coke Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs a nanogap‐induced microwave discharge strategy to pretreat coke deposits on iron‐based catalysts with engineered nanogaps, causing ultrarapid heating to 1990 K within seconds, selectively eliminating >70% surface carbon deposits and converting waste plastics and greenhouse gases into syngas.
