Data‐Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry in Tumor Classification and Cancer Biomarker Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer treatment is far from optimal also because current classification systems do not reflect the complex molecular status of the tumor and its phenotype in sufficient detail. To construct molecular tumor classifiers, omics tools provide complex molecular data reflecting many aspects from genotype to phenotype.

PD-1 blockade employed at the time CD8+ T cells are activated enhances their antitumor efficacy

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer
Background We have previously shown that immune checkpoint receptors, including PD-1, are upregulated on T cells at the time of their activation, and that blockade of these receptors can improve the efficacy of antitumor vaccines.

Failure points in the early autism identification pathway for children aged 0–5 years: Why screening is not diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Investigation, EarlyView.
Early autism identification in children aged 0–5 years should be understood as a linked pathway from concern to action. Screening has value, but clinically meaningful identification depends on escalation of concern, referral conversion, timely assessment, and needs‐based support.

Scale dependence of the marine atmospheric boundary‐layer response to ocean surface‐temperature variability in the EUREC4$$ {\mathrm{EUREC}}^4 $$A region

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
With a minimal physics model and a high‐resolution fully 3D simulation, we demonstrate that the marine atmospheric boundary layer (MABL) response to sea‐surface temperature (SST) variability displays a dependence on the horizontal scales of motion.

Hexapod Locomotion Across Structured and Unstructured Terrains: A Data‐Driven Review of Modeling, Control, and Validation

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The design of a hexapod is complex and requires integration between kinematic models, control systems, and sensing. Existing literature has reviewed these sub‐systems in isolation. Since 2021, there has been no review of the field despite significant advancements in soft soil, lunar traversal, and artificial intelligence.

Knee height is often right: evaluating device height effects on camera trapping rate

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Camera trap deployment height can introduce systematic biases in detection trapping rates across species of different body sizes. Combining 172 paired sampling points in five experiments across Europe, North America and Africa, our results show that low cameras significantly increase detections of small‐ and medium‐sized species, whereas high cameras ...

Estimating large carnivore populations in an arid fenced reserve using spatial capture–recapture modelling

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
In fenced protected areas where large carnivore populations persist or have been restored through reintroduction, population monitoring is essential to inform management. Robust density estimates are particularly important given the strong influence of large carnivores on ecosystem processes, yet such data remain scarce for arid systems where ...
