A general mixture equation of state for double bonding carboxylic acids with >= 2 association sites [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics 148, 174103 (2018), 2018
In this paper we obtain the first general multi-component solution to thermodynamic perturbation theory for the case that molecules can participate in cyclic double bonds. In contrast to previous authors, we do not restrict double bonding molecules to a 2-site association scheme.

Adenylation Activity of Carboxylic Acid Reductases Enables the Synthesis of Amides.

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, 2017
Carboxylic acid reductases (CARs) catalyze the reduction of a broad range of carboxylic acids to aldehydes using the cofactors adenosine triphosphate and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, and have become attractive biocatalysts for organic ...

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

1H-Pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the title compound, C5H5NO2, the pyrrole ring and its carboxyl substituent are close to coplanar, with a dihedral angle of 11.7 (3)° between the planes. In the crystal structure, adjacent molecules are linked by pairs of O—

Mapping Hsp104 interactions using cross‐linking mass spectrometry

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study examines how cross‐linking mass spectrometry can be utilized to analyze ATP‐induced conformational changes in Hsp104 and its interactions with substrates. We developed an analytical pipeline to distinguish between intra‐ and inter‐subunit contacts within the hexameric homo‐oligomer and discovered contacts between Hsp104 and a selected ...

5,6,7,8-Tetrahydronaphthalene-1-carboxylic acid

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the molecule of the title compound, C11H12O2, the cyclohexane ring adopts a half-chair conformation. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimers by pairs of O—H...O hydrogen bonds, and the dimers are linked ...

Lipoxygenase and Its Relationship with Ethylene During Ripening of Genetically Modified Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)

open access: yesFood Technology and Biotechnology, 2020
Research background. TomloxB is the main isoform of lipoxygenase associated with ripening and senescence of fruits. On the other hand, ethylene, a gaseous hormone, is essential for the regulation of ripening in climacteric fruits like tomatoes.

Exploring the cocrystallization potential of urea and benzamide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The cocrystallization landscape of benzamide and urea interacting with aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acids was studied both experimentally and theoretically. Ten new cocrystals of benzamide were synthesized using an oriented samples approach via a fast dropped evaporation technique. Information about types of known bi-component cocrystals augmented

Structure Property Relationships of Carboxylic Acid Isosteres

open access: yesJournal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2016
The replacement of a carboxylic acid with a surrogate structure, or (bio)-isostere, is a classical strategy in medicinal chemistry. The general underlying principle is that by maintaining the features of the carboxylic acid critical for biological ...

Hydrogel‐Based Capacitive Sensor Model for Ammonium Monitoring in Aquaculture

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Traditional techniques for monitoring aquaculture water quality, particularly ammonium levels, harm fish. This work presents a novel capacitive sensor with an ionic hydrogel transducer to monitor ammonium concentration in real time based on the ammonium‐induced hydrogel dissociation and osmotic pressure. Monitoring aquaculture water quality, especially
