PRMT1‐Mediated LDHA Methylation Drives STAT3 Lactylation to Orchestrate Intestinal Inflammation and Tumorigenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies an immunometabolic axis wherein SAM‐driven PRMT1 methylates LDHA, enhancing its activity. The resultant lactate induces STAT3 K709 lactylation, which stabilizes an active conformation to promote STAT3 phosphorylation and IL‐10 expression.

Regulation of Body Weight and Carcass Composition by Sibutramine in Rats [PDF]

open access: yesObesity Research, 2002
AbstractObjective: We examined the effectiveness of sibutramine to modulate food intake and body composition in rats with two levels of adiposity imposed by the duration of their maintenance on a moderate‐fat diet.Research Methods and Procedures: Male Sprague–Dawley rats were fed a 32% fat diet from weaning until 2 or 4 months of age, at which point ...

Multiscale Coupling From Mastication to Retronasal Aroma Perception: The PG‐DTCFN Model and Multiphysics Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using grilled lamb skewers as a model system, this work builds a multiscale coupling framework from oral processing to retronasal aroma perception, reveals dual‐kinetic release patterns and Electroencephalogram‐characterized central encoding features, and proposes an interpretable physics‐guided deep learning model validated by multiphysics simulation,

Brahman Cross Carcass Production on Different Frame Size

open access: yesJurnal Agro Veteriner, 2023
This study observed Brahman cross steer carcass production, (slaughter weight, carcass weight, and dressing percentage). The material used was 166 heads of white Brahman cross steer, with an average slaughter weight of 424.40–35.86 kg, and the range of ...

Livestock Multi‐Omics Integration: A Systematic Framework From Statistical Association to Causal Interpretation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A three‐tier livestock multi‐omics framework resolves four typical analytical pitfalls. Moving from statistical association through machine learning preprocessing to triple‐modal causal inference, it converts omics results into genomic selection and gene editing strategies to achieve One Health, underpinned by multi‐omics data, multimodal sequencing ...

Delaying the Inevitable? U.S. Screwworm Closures and Feeder Cattle Market Dynamics

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biosecurity trade restrictions are commonly framed as preventive measures, yet in many settings they function primarily as policies of delay: they impose immediate market costs while only postponing the arrival of biological risks. This paper evaluates that intertemporal tradeoff using the 2024–2025 US suspension of live cattle imports from ...

Access to Finance and Innovation in the Canadian Food Processing

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Innovation is a presumed channel through which finance affects productivity, yet there is limited research testing the relationship between finance and innovation in the food manufacturing sector. The purpose of the paper is to explore the determinants (e.g., financing, R&D, firm size, expenditure on innovation) of the adoption of innovation ...

Revisiting paravertebral muscles in European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and European brown hares (Lepus europaeus) (Leporidae; Lagomorpha)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Domesticated European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) have long been chosen as laboratory model organisms. Despite this, there has been no definitive study of the vertebral musculature of wild rabbits. Relevant descriptions of well‐studied veterinary model mammals (such as dogs) are generally applicable, but not appropriate for a species ...
