Carcinogenicity of sterigmatocystin

Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, 1968
Abstract The mycotoxin, sterigmatocystin, was administered to rats in doses of 0·15–2·25 mg/day by gavage or in the diet for 52 wk. Eight rats which received a high dose (1·5–2·25 mg/day) of sterigmatocystin died between wk 5 and 18, while 39 out of the 50 treated rats surviving to wk 42 eventually developed hepatocellular carcinoma. Of these, 31 had

Dietary Carcinogens and Anti-Carcinogens

Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 1984
The scientific understanding of cancer and degenerative disease is being aided by new methodologies which are now used to approach the problem of environmental and occupational carcinogens and anticarcinogens. This paper reviews these powerful new tools and relates them to "natural" mutagens and carcinogens in food.

The Carcinogenic Example

Logic Journal of IGPL, 1997
A new kind of models for propositional linear logic (IE-models) based on commutative monoids is defined. In the author's opinion they reflect the resource interpretation better than other type of models. IE-models are sound but not complete, since they verify distributivity of \(\&\) over \(\oplus\).

Carcinogenicity of Methylchrysenes

Science, 1974
Methylchrysenes are present in tobacco smoke and are suspected to contribute to the tumorigenicity of this inhalant. Chrysene and the six isomeric methylchrysenes were obtained in high purity (> 99.9 percent); they were tested on mouse skin for tumor initiating activity and carcinogenicity.

BRACKEN CARCINOGENICITY

Reviews on Environmental Health, 1979
The study of bracken carcinogenicity affords an interesting example of the close alliance, with mutual benefit, between the work of veterinarians in the field and experimental research. On the one hand was the condition found in many parts of the world of bovine enzootic haematuria with uncertain aetiology and, on the other, the investigations ...

Carcinogenicity and Modification of Carcinogenic Response by Antioxidants

1990
Synthetic or naturally occurring antioxidants such as butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), propyl gallate sodium L-ascorbate, and α-tocopherol have been widely used as food additives in various processed foods to prevent auto-oxidation of fatty acids.

Carcinogens and Anticarcinogens

1986
There is the potential for major progress in the prevention of cancer in the next 5 or 10 years. In the short term, progress in the prevention of cancer depends on a better understanding of some of the risk factors and antirisk factors for the major human cancers.

Carcinogenicity of Procarbazine

Zeitschrift fr Krebsforschung und Klinische Onkologie, 1974
225 mg Procarbazine administered by 15 intraperitoneal injections in R strain female rats induced malignant tumors in every rat after a median latency of 301 days: mammary, uterine and ear-duct tumors were obtained after a latent period of 270, 377, and 244 days respectively.
