miRNA Profiling of Cholesteatoma‐Derived Exosomes Reveals Exosomal miR‐223‐3p and miR‐142‐5p as Potential Biomarkers for Acquired Middle Ear Cholesteatoma

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Acquired cholesteatoma is an abnormal and invasive growth of keratinized squamous epithelial cells in the middle ear. The study aims to explore the role of exosomal miRNAs in the pathogenesis of acquired cholesteatoma and their potential in clinical application.

Does Adjuvant Therapy in Invasive Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasm of the Pancreas Improve Survival? A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis Using Trial Sequential Analysis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Question: What is the efficacy of adjuvant therapy in resected invasive IPMN? Findings: This meta‐analysis showed that patients with invasive IPMN do not benefit from adjuvant therapy (HR 1.21, 95% IC: 0.81−1.79). A subgroup analysis showed that node‐positive patients have an improved OS (HR 1.86; 95% CI 1.39; 2.47, p < 0.001).

Imaging of Abdominal Complications in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia

open access: yesJournal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is the most common paediatric malignancy and remains one of the most common causes of cancer‐related death in children and adolescents. Five‐year overall survival rates now exceed 90% with current multidrug chemotherapeutic regimens. This improvement, coupled with the toxicity of chemotherapy, has led to the

Defining an Unresectable Primary Retroperitoneal Sarcoma

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Retroperitoneal sarcomas (RPS) comprise a heterogenous group of rare mesenchymal tumours. A complete macroscopic en bloc resection of the tumour with involved adjacent structures is the only curative treatment modality. There remain no consensus criteria regarding the definition of a resectable versus unresectable RPS.

A Combinatorial Effect of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors and CD40 Agonistic Antibody in Murine Pancreatic Cancer Model

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
We established and extensively analyzed an organoid‐based mouse model that closely mimics human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Monotherapy with an immune checkpoint inhibitor cocktail or a CD40 agonist antibody showed minimal efficacy. However, combining both reagents produced a strong synergistic effect by enhancing anti‐tumor immunity.
