Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Pancreas

open access: yesCurrent Oncology, 2008
Pancreatic malignancies can be subdivided into endocrine and non-endocrine processes. Of the non-endocrine tumours, ductal carcinoma is the most common, and the ductal carcinomas can be further subdivided into adenocarcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas.

Squamous cell carcinoma of the extremities [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1985
Between January 1976 and January 1983, 37 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the extremities have been treated at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre by the authors. Each case has arisen in an area of preexisting scar or sinus. Twenty-nine cases were treated by definitive amputation, with 2 local recurrences and 12 nodal metastases.

Clinical significance of VEGF-A, -C and -D expression in esophageal malignancies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Vascular endothelial growth factors ( VEGF)- A, - C and - D are members of the proangiogenic VEGF family of glycoproteins. VEGF-A is known to be the most important angiogenic factor under physiological and pathological conditions, while VEGF-C and VEGF-D

Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist: a promising cytokine against human squamous cell carcinomas

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Inflammation, especially chronic inflammation, is closely linked to tumor development. As essential chronic inflammatory cytokines, the interleukin family plays a key role in inflammatory infections and malignancies.

Expression of heparanase in basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesAnais Brasileiros de Dermatologia, 2016
: Background: Heparanase is an enzyme that cleaves heparan sulfate chains. Oligosaccharides generated by heparanase induce tumor progression. Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma comprise types of nonmelanoma skin cancer.

Ultraviolet Light Carcinogenesis In Hairless Mice: Cell Kinetics During Induction And Progression Of Squamous Cell Carcinoma As Estimated By The Double-Labeling Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 1935
The double-labeling method for studying cell cycle kinetics was applied to uninvolved epidermis of hairless mice (irradiated and unirradiated), and at various stages of ultraviolet light (UVL)-induced squamous cell carcinoma. The growth fraction (GF) was

Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.
