Heterogeneity Analyzed by CT‐Based Habitat Analysis for Clinical Management of Cancers: A Narrative Review

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumors are highly heterogeneous, and whole‐lesion radiomics analysis is a popular method for extracting texture features that reflect this heterogeneity, which can be used to build models for cancer diagnosis, staging, therapy response evaluation, and prognosis prediction.

Case Report: Ductal Carcinoma In Situ in the Male Breast

open access: yesCase Reports in Radiology, 2012
High-grade ductal carcinoma in situ is incredibly rare in male patients. The prognosis for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in a male patient is the same as it would be for a female with the same stage disease; therefore, early recognition and diagnosis ...

Data‐Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry in Tumor Classification and Cancer Biomarker Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer treatment is far from optimal also because current classification systems do not reflect the complex molecular status of the tumor and its phenotype in sufficient detail. To construct molecular tumor classifiers, omics tools provide complex molecular data reflecting many aspects from genotype to phenotype.

Peptide‐based responsive molecular fluorescent probes for precision oncology

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
Peptide‐based responsive fluorescent probes have emerged as adaptive functional materials for precision tumor theranostics, combining tumor‐selective recognition, programmable stimulus responsiveness, and modular tunability. They enable high‐contrast imaging, intraoperative guidance, real‐time monitoring, and multimodal applications, while next ...

Different distribution of breast cancer subtypes in breast ductal carcinoma in situ and ductal carcinoma in situ with microinvasion

open access: yesZhongguo aizheng zazhi, 2018
Background and purpose: Breast ductal carcinoma in situ with microinvasion (DCIS-MI) is considered to be the interim stage in the progression from breast ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) to invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC).

Biomaterial‐Integrated Electroporation for Therapeutic Delivery: From Gene Editing to Tumor Ablation and Immune Modulation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Biomaterial‐integrated electroporation establishes a programmable therapeutic interface that coordinates electric‐field modulation, transient or irreversible membrane permeabilization, cargo stabilization, and immune remodeling. This Review highlights how nanocarriers, hydrogels, and bioelectronic interfaces expand electroporation from conventional ...

Whole‐transcriptome sequencing analyses identified exosomal circular RNAs in the plasma of pancreatic cancer patients as novel blood‐based biomarkers of disease

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Pancreatic cancer (PaCa) has a poor prognosis, with low resection rates and high relapse rates, highlighting the urgent need for novel diagnostic biomarkers. Here, we performed whole‐transcriptome sequencing of plasma‐derived exosomes from PaCa patients and identified several differentially expressed circular RNAs (circRNAs).

CARCINOMA DUCTAL IN SITU: GENERALIDADES, DIAGNÓSTICO, TRATAMIENTO Y CONTROVERSIAS

Risk of Cancer With Hormone Replacement Therapy: A Narrative Review

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) remains the cornerstone of menopausal symptom management, effectively alleviating vasomotor symptoms and genitourinary syndrome, whilst mitigating long‐term risks such as osteoporosis. However, despite an increasing body of evidence on the relative safety of HRT, earlier studies that demonstrated an increased ...

Outcomes for Patients With Micro‐Invasive or Small HER2+ Breast Cancer in Northern Sydney Local Health District

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, EarlyView.
This retrospective study of patients with small, node‐negative HER2+ breast cancer found favorable 5‐year invasive disease‐free survival rates—93% for pT1mic/a disease and 100% for pT1b disease. Trastuzumab was administered to 66% of patients and was associated with larger tumor size and higher histologic grade.
