Application of MR Cytometry in Predicting Pathologic Complete Response to Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in Breast Cancer: A Comparative Study

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background MR cytometry imaging is developed to characterize in vivo microstructures. Its clinical value in predicting pathological complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for breast cancer remains unknown. Purpose To implement MR cytometry to predict pCR for breast cancer and compare the performance of different ...

Bilateral Prophylactic and Contralateral Risk‐Reducing Mastectomy in Women With Germline CDH1 Pathogenic or Likely‐Pathogenic Variants

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bilateral prophylactic mastectomy (BPM) or contralateral risk‐reducing mastectomy (CRRM) are considered in CDH1 carriers as a strategy to reduce lobular breast cancer (LBC) risk in women. In this study we aimed to evaluate the overall number of these procedures reported in literature.

Oncoplastic Surgery Versus Total Breast Reconstruction in Locally Advanced and Multicentric Carcinomas. A Matched Comparative Cohort Study of Oncologic and Aesthetic Outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objective This study aimed to compare extreme oncoplastic surgery (EO‐partial breast reconstruction for tumors > 5 cm or multicentric lesions) with extreme reconstruction (ER‐mastectomy with reconstruction for tumors >5 cm or multicentric lesions).

Shear Wave Elastography for Characterization of Breast Lesions in Clinical Routine

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives Breast cancer remains a major global health challenge, and conventional B‐mode ultrasound frequently encounters limitations in reliably distinguishing benign from malignant lesions, particularly within intermediate Breast Imaging‐Reporting and Data System (BI‐RADS) categories.

Heterogeneity Analyzed by CT‐Based Habitat Analysis for Clinical Management of Cancers: A Narrative Review

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumors are highly heterogeneous, and whole‐lesion radiomics analysis is a popular method for extracting texture features that reflect this heterogeneity, which can be used to build models for cancer diagnosis, staging, therapy response evaluation, and prognosis prediction.

Microinvasive Papillary carcinoma of the breast with mucinous differentiation and high grade ductal carcinoma in situ: A case report study

open access: yesBasic & Clinical Cancer Research, 2018
A 35-year-old woman had a history of left breast mass without pain, discharge or weight loss. Fine needle aspiration noticed papillary carcinoma. Frozen section diagnosis was invasive carcinoma with papillary feature and free marked margin.

Data‐Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry in Tumor Classification and Cancer Biomarker Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer treatment is far from optimal also because current classification systems do not reflect the complex molecular status of the tumor and its phenotype in sufficient detail. To construct molecular tumor classifiers, omics tools provide complex molecular data reflecting many aspects from genotype to phenotype.

Clinical and Molecular Features of BAP1‐Mutated Meningiomas: Case Series

open access: yesMolecular Carcinogenesis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT BRCA1‐associated protein 1 (BAP1)‐deficient meningiomas represent a clinically and molecularly distinct subgroup with variable histology and aggressive behavior that may not be fully captured by current grading criteria. The clinical spectrum of BAP1 alterations in meningiomas, including both somatic and germline contexts, remains incompletely

Chemopreventive Effect of Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia) Juice on Pancreatic Carcinogenesis in LSL‐KrasG12D/+; p48Cre/+ Mice

open access: yesMolecular Carcinogenesis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Herein, using the LSL‐KrasG12D/+; p48Cre/+ transgenic mouse model [that recapitulates the full spectrum of human disease, progressing from early pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia lesions to invasive pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC)], we determined the chemopreventive effect of long‐term (chronic) administration of Bitter Melon Juice (

[Ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast].

open access: yesIl Giornale di chirurgia, 2006
The Authors report their experience about 127 ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast. Guidelines for surgical treatment are: radiological or clinical diagnosis, tumor's extension, histological classification, grading and margin status. At the present the Authors prefer breast conserving surgery with tumor margin's study.
