ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a type 2 inflammatory disease often associated with asthma. The global airway hypothesis suggests bidirectional inflammatory interactions between upper and lower airways. Mepolizumab, an anti–IL‐5 therapy, treats conditions systemically, while functional endoscopic sinus surgery ...

A modified approach was developed to accurately identify the isovolumetric relaxation time (IVRT) using an apical three‐chamber view. Compared with conventional echocardiography, isovolumic relaxation strain imaging (IVSI) helps to detect the earlier alternations of diastolic function in transverse aortic constriction (TAC) mice.

Metabolic and biochemical profiling reveals phenotypic heterogeneity in Zucker diabetic fatty rats
Genetically uniform Zucker Diabetic Fatty (ZDF) rats spontaneously develop four distinct metabolic phenotypes despite identical housing and diet conditions. Each phenotype exhibits unique biomarker signatures encompassing glucose homeostasis, insulin secretion, polyol pathway activation, oxidative stress, inflammatory cytokines, and neurotrophic ...

Cardiac biomarkers in Neonatology
In this thesis, the role for cardiac biomarkers in neonatology was investigated. Several clinically relevant results were reported. In term and preterm infants, hypoxia and subsequent adaptation play an important role in cardiac biomarker elevation. The elevated natriuretic peptides are indicative of abnormal function; elevated troponins are suggestive
