Cardiac troponin T: A sensitive and specific indicator of myocardial injury in patients with cerebrovascular stroke

open access: yesThe Egyptian Heart Journal, 2012
Background: Unsuspected morbidity and mortality in cerebrovascular stroke (CVS) patients remain a serious issue in critical medicine field. Patients with CVS are at increased risk of developing cardiac complications which explains the high morbidity and ...

Mitochondria‐endoplasmic reticulum organelle glue as maturation promoter for origination/dimensional dual‐cross cardiomyocytes

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Mitochondria‐endoplasmic reticulum contact sites (MERCS) are areas where the mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum closely interact. In this study, we utilize synthetic organelle glues to artificially engineer MERCS for regulating cardiomyocyte development, through which the immature and chemo‐plasticity issues of undifferentiated cells are addressed.

Non-canonical Expression of Cardiac Troponin-T in Neuroendocrine Ethmoid Sinus Carcinoma Following Immune Checkpoint Blockade

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2019
We describe the case of a patient with neuroendocrine ethmoid sinus carcinoma, who exhibited markedly elevated levels of serum cardiac troponin-T and creatine kinase (CK)-MB isoenzyme without any symptom after the administration of nivolumab, immune ...

Senile Systemic Amyloidosis: Clinical Features at Presentation and Outcome

open access: yes, 2013
Background Cardiac amyloidosis is a fatal disease whose prognosis and treatment rely on identification of the amyloid type. In our aging population transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTRwt) is common and must be differentiated from other amyloid types.

Unveiling the Microvasculature: The Index of Microcirculatory Resistance and Its Expanding Role in Cardiovascular Care

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) is a cutting‐edge, wire‐based tool that advances the capability assessment of coronary microvascular function. By utilizing distal coronary pressure and mean transit time under maximal hyperemia, IMR delivers consistent, reproducible insights into the microvasculature's dynamic health.

THE VALUE OF CARDIAC TROPONIN T TO DETERMINE MYOCARDIAL INJURY IN CORONARY ARTERY BYPASS SURGERY

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Medicine, 2019
Objective: Cardiac troponin T is more specific and sensitive marker for myocardial injury than MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase. We studied the prognostic value and cardiac risks after than coronary artery bypass grafting, measuring of the preoperative ...

Cardiac troponin T in female athletes during a two-day mountain marathon

open access: yes, 2003
Background: Equivocal studies exist on the potential of cardiac damage following prolonged endurance exercise. Aims: The aim of the study was to examine humoral markers of cardiac damage in female athletes during a 2-day mountain endurance race ...

Influence of the Residual Gensini Score on Prognosis of Patients With ST‐Elevation Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The residual Gensini score (rGS) was developed to quantify the severity of coronary atheroma burden after coronary revascularisation. The predictive value of the rGS for clinical outcomes in patients with ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains unexplored.

Troponins in Experimental Studies

open access: yesActa Medica, 2002
The aim of our study was to compare the diagnostic performance of cardiac troponin T (cTnT) and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in three groups of rabbits: 1) control (saline 1 ml/kg i.v.); 2) daunorubicin (3 mg/kg i.v.); 3) daunorubicin (3 mg/kg i.v ...
