Elevated Plasma Cardiac Troponin T Levels Caused by Skeletal Muscle Damage in Pompe Disease

open access: yesCirculation: Cardiovascular Genetics, 2016
Background—Elevated plasma cardiac troponin T (cTnT) levels in patients with neuromuscular disorders may erroneously lead to the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction or myocardial injury.

Cardioprotective effect of propranolol from alcohol-induced heart muscle damage as assessed by plasma cardiac troponin-T.

open access: yes, 2001
Background: Heavy alcohol consumption from either long-term misuse or binge drinking is associated with poor cardiac contractility, mitochondrial dysfunction, and ventricular arrhythmias.

Multi‐Omics Insights Into the Mechanisms of Early Muscle Fiber Difference and Transformation Between Lean‐Type and Chinese Indigenous Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐omics analyses uncover breed‐specific cis‐regulatory landscapes and higher‐order chromatin architectural differences that underlie early postnatal muscle fiber divergence in pigs. A super‐enhancer upstream of PPP3CB recruits MEF2C to activate PPP3CB transcription, while the PPP3CB–MEF2C positive feedback loop promotes oxidative muscle fiber ...

Effect of prolonged exercise in a hypoxic environment on cardiac function and cardiac troponin T

open access: yes, 2004
Background: Exercise induced cardiac fatigue has recently been observed after prolonged exercise. A moderate to high altitude has been suggested as a possible stimulus in the genesis of such cardiac fatigue. Objective: To investigate if exercise induced

CK2α Deficiency Drives Myocardial Fibrosis via Desmin‐Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CK2α preserves mitochondrial homeostasis by phosphorylating Desmin to recruit Cryab, ensuring proper filament assembly. CK2α deficiency disrupts this interaction, causing mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic shifts, bioenergetic failure, and oxidative stress—ultimately establishing a pro‐fibrotic environment that drives cardiac fibrosis.

Cardiac Biomarkers and Left Ventricular Hypertrophy in Relation to Outcomes in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation: Experiences From the RE‐LY Trial

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2019
Background Cardiac biomarkers and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) are related to the risk of stroke and death in patients with atrial fibrillation.

Leonurine Ameliorates Doxorubicin‐Induced Cardiotoxicity via STING/NF‐κB/NLRP3 Inflammasome Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Doxorubicin‐induced cardiomyopathy (DIC) remains a dose‐limiting clinical challenge. This study reveals that cardiac vascular endothelial cells (CVECs) act as initial sensors of doxorubicin cardiotoxicity: circulating doxorubicin activates the cGAS‑STING pathway in CVECs, triggering NLRP3 inflammasome‑mediated pyroptosis and release of ...

Associations of elevated cardiac biomarkers with hyperuricemia and mortality in US adults without prevalent cardiovascular disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
BackgroundNT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide), high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-troponin T), and high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-troponin I) have been widely recognized as significant cardiac biomarkers, and are ...

Increased Cardiac Troponin-T in Patients without Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesОбщая реаниматология, 2008
There have been recently reports on elevated levels of cardiac troponins in patients without acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The purpose of the study was to analyze final diagnoses in patients with elevated cardiac troponin-T levels without clinical ...

Some properties of cardiac troponin T structure [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1983
Troponin T is eluted in multiple peaks when the whole bovine cardiac troponin complex is subjected to DEAE-cellulose chromatography in the presence of 8 M-urea. The heterogeneity observed is due to the presence of two forms of troponin T, differing in their Mr values, amino acid content, degree of phosphorylation and aggregation.
