Cardiac Troponin T Forms a Tetramer in Vitro

Biochemistry, 2008
Cardiac troponin T (cTnT) is a myofibrillar protein essential for calcium-dependent contraction. This property has led to functional studies of developmentally expressed cTnT isoforms and mutants identified in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Posttranslational modifications of cardiac troponin T: An overview

Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, 2013
Cardiac troponin (cTn) is an important sarcomeric protein complex situated on the thin filament and is involved in the regulation of cardiac muscle contraction. This regulation is primarily controlled by Ca(2+) binding to troponin C and in addition fine-tuned by the posttranslational modification of cTnI and cTnT.

Cardiac Troponin T in Patients With Kidney Disease

Therapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, 2005
Abstract:  Atherosclerosis is accelerated in dialysis patients and cardiovascular mortality is up to 20 times higher than in the general population. Cardiac troponin T (cTnT) is a sensitive marker of myocardial necrosis and studies have confirmed the superiority of this marker over traditional cardiac enzymes.

A comparison of cardiac troponin T and cardiac troponin I in patients with acute coronary syndromes

Coronary Artery Disease, 1999
The majority of studies have shown that the performance of assays for cTnT and cTnI is almost identical in detecting AMI in patients with coronary artery disease. Currently cTnT may have an advantage over cTnI because available laboratory and POC platforms are standardized to a single reference material. Nevertheless, the decision to use cTnT or cTnI a
