A variety of impacting factors in the pathogenesis of periodontitis exist, including systemic, lifestyle, and environmental factors. This review highlights the manifold mechanistic aspects of the link between the pathogenesis of periodontitis, addressing these numerous factors to supplement the long‐standing knowledge of the progression of the disease.

Across all population and sociodemographic groups in the Philippines, diets lacked diversity and intakes of fruit and vegetables were low. Under‐ and overnutrition are persisting challenges. Rigorous evidence from interventions to improve diet quality and fruit and vegetable intake in the Philippines is urgently needed.

UV RESISTANCE LOCUS 8 signalling enhances photosynthetic resilience to herbicide‐induced damage in Arabidopsis thaliana

Summary Perception of low irradiance ultraviolet B (UV‐B) light (280–315 nm) by the UV RESISTANCE LOCUS 8 (UVR8) photoreceptor initiates signalling pathways that enhance plant defences to UV‐B damage, mitigating the effects of higher photon irradiances.
