Rapid simulation of water levels in the Dongting Lake region based on Transformer model
To achieve a rapid and accurate simulation of water level variations in the Dongting Lake region, two deep learning models,i.e.,the TRANS-LSTM and TRANS-LSTM-SE models which incorporate the Transformer architecture and the squeeze-and-excitation (SE ...

Cascade is a static program analysis tool developed at New York University. It uses bounded model checking to generate verification conditions and checks them using an SMT solver which either produces a proof of correctness or gives a concrete trace showing how an assertion can fail.

Energy flow along the medium-induced parton cascade
We discuss the dynamics of parton cascades that develop in dense QCD matter, and contrast their properties with those of similar cascades of gluon radiation in vacuum.

Regge-cascade hadronization [PDF]
We argue that the evolution of coloured partons into colour-singlet hadrons has approximate factorization into an extended parton-shower phase and a colour-singlet resonance--pole phase.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Electromagnetic Cascade in the Early Universe and its Application to the Big-Bang Nucleosynthesis
We investigate the electromagnetic cascade initiated by injection of very high energy photons in the early Universe and calculate the cascade spectrum by solving a set of Boltzmann equations numerically.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The trials and tribulations of linking real-world data: When research doesn’t go quite as planned
Objective Drawing upon learning from bringing youth justice data into SAIL Databank, this paper will focus some of the challenges associated with using real world data, and the implications that this for the research. Methods As part of a feasibility

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Spectrum of turbulent Kelvin-waves cascade in superfluid helium
To explain the observed decay of superfluid turbulence at very low temperature, it has been proposed that a cascade of Kelvin waves (analogous to the classical Kolmogorov cascade) transfers kinetic energy to length scales which are small enough that ...
