Enzymatic cascade reaction in simple-coacervates
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2023The design of enzymatic droplet-sized reactors constitutes an important challenge with many potential applications such as medical diagnostics, water purification, bioengineering, or food industry. Coacervates, which are all-aqueous droplets, afford a simple model for the investigation of enzymatic cascade reaction since the reactions occur in all ...

Cascade Reactions in an All‐Enzyme Nanoreactor
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2009Good things come in small packages! Giant amphiphiles, consisting of a polymeric hydrophobic tail and a horseradish peroxidase head, were simultaneously synthesized and self-assembled into vesicles. During the self-assembly process, glucose oxidase was encapsulated to create enzymatic cascade nanoreactors (see picture; ABTS= 2,2′-azido-bis(3 ...

A Novel Diastereoselective Multicomponent Cascade Reaction
Organic Letters, 2010A novel multicomponent cascade reaction led to the formation of a strained 3-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane derivative 4. The unstable ester 4 was reduced in a one-pot procedure to a stable alcohol 6. The formation of the bicyclic product is highly diastereoselective, predominantly affording one diastereoisomer.

Nickel‐Catalyzed Cascade Reactions
European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2021AbstractThe formation of molecules with complexity in a simple, straight forward pathway attracts great interest in organic synthesis. Recently, nickel‐catalyzed cascade reactions have grown up as a useful tool and contributed significantly to the area of synthetic methodology.

A Pericyclic Reaction Cascade in Leporin Biosynthesis
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2018All roads lead to Rome: The biosynthesis of the leporins in Aspergillus sp. involves an unprecedented pericyclic reaction cascade. The enzyme LepI directs the periselectivity of a [4+2] cycloaddition towards a hetero-Diels-Alder reaction outcome to give the leporin molecular scaffold.

Substrate channelling as an approach to cascade reactions
Nature Chemistry, 2016Millions of years of evolution have produced biological systems capable of efficient one-pot multi-step catalysis. The underlying mechanisms that facilitate these reaction processes are increasingly providing inspiration in synthetic chemistry. Substrate channelling, where intermediates between enzymatic steps are not in equilibrium with the bulk ...
