Effects of surface passivation on gliding motility assays. [PDF]
In this study, we report differences in the observed gliding speed of microtubules dependent on the choice of bovine casein used as a surface passivator. We observed differences in both speed and support of microtubules in each of the assays.

Micellar Casein and Whey Powder Hold a TGF-β Activity and Regulate ID Genes In Vitro [PDF]
Casein and whey being food supplements have been considered to be used in oral health care products. However, the response of oral cells to micellar casein and whey powder remains unclear.

Caseins play a central role in the dairy sector, as it is their controlled coagulation that allows the conversion of milk into cheese, yoghurt and caseinates, but also the creation of high-quality co-products from whey. Understanding caseins, their association into casein micelles and the properties of casein micelles is thus very important.

miR-380-3p promotes β-casein expression by targeting αS1-casein in goat mammary epithelial cells [PDF]
Objective αS1-Casein is more closely associated with milk allergic reaction than other milk protein components. microRNA (miRNA) is a class of small non-coding RNAs that modulate multiple biological progresses by the target gene.

The Function of A2β-casein and Its Application Progress in Dairy Products
Milk is rich in many nutrients, including protein, lipids, carbohydrates, etc. Every 100 g of milk contains 3 g of protein, including mainly whey protein and casein.

Casein polymorphism heterogeneity influences casein micelle size in milk of individual cows
Milk samples from individual cows producing small (148–155 nm) or large (177–222 nm) casein micelles were selected to investigate the relationship between the individual casein proteins, specifically κ- and β-casein phenotypes, and casein micelle size ...

Beneficial effects of cod protein on inflammatory cell accumulation in rat skeletal muscle after injury are driven by its high levels of arginine, glycine, taurine and lysine. [PDF]
We have shown that feeding cod protein, which is rich in anti-inflammatory arginine, glycine, and taurine, may beneficially modulate the inflammatory response during recovery following skeletal muscle injury; however it is unknown if these amino acids ...

The dynamics of β-casein and casein micelles in the reconstitution of skim milk were revisited in this study. β-casein migrates into casein micelles upon an increase in temperatures due to an increase in the hydrophobic effect and lower calcium-phosphate
