Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) occupy an abundant fraction of the eukaryotic transcriptome and an emerging area in cancer research. Regulation by lncRNAs is based on their subcellular localization in HNSCC. This cartoon shows the various functions of lncRNAs in HNSCC discussed in this review.

Growth inhibition of cytosolic Salmonella by caspase-1 and caspase-11 precedes host cell death
Sensing bacterial products in the cytosol of mammalian cells by NOD-like receptors leads to the activation of caspase-1 inflammasomes, and the production of the pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin (IL)-18 and IL-1β.

FEM1B enhances TRAIL‐induced apoptosis in T lymphocytes and monocytes
FEM1B facilitates TRAIL‐induced apoptosis through distinct mechanisms in T lymphocytes and monocytes. In T lymphocytes, FEM1B engages with TRAF2, leading to a reduction in TRAF2 expression, which subsequently lessens TRAF2's inhibitory influence on caspase‐8.

Functional parameters of spermatozoa obtained by a new selection device
This study compares density gradient centrifugation and the LensHooke CA0™ device for sperm separation. DGC requires multiple steps, specialized equipment, and technical expertise. In contrast, the CA0 device offers key practical and methodological advantages, resulting in a faster, simpler, and more affordable sperm selection method.

Liver‐specific lncRNAs associated with liver cancers
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are regulatory molecules with various functions. They are more tissue‐specific than proteins and can be used as potential biomarkers, particularly in cancer diagnostics and prognosis. In this review, we have systematically compiled all lncRNAs with exclusive expression in the human liver, verified their liver specificity ...

Cell death can be critical for host defense against intracellular pathogens because it eliminates a crucial replicative niche, and pro-inflammatory cell death can alert neighboring cells to the presence of pathogenic organisms and enhance downstream ...

HMGB1 derived from the pyroptotic environment in Hirschsprung‐associated enterocolitis mediates the formation of macrophage extracellular traps through TLR4 ‐p38 MAPK/p65 NF‐kB signaling pathways. Macrophage extracellular traps induce increased ROS production and pyroptosis of colonic epithelial cells.

Summary: Canonical pyroptosis is type of programmed cell death depending on active caspase-1, and the inflammasome carries out caspase-1 activation. Here, we showed that docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) induced ovarian cancer cell deaths in caspase-1-dependent
