Visual imitation learning from one-shot demonstration for multi-step robot pick and place tasks

open access: yesScientific Reports
Imitation learning provides an intuitive approach for robot programming by enabling robots to learn directly from human demonstrations. While recent visual imitation learning methods have shown promise, they often depend on large datasets, which limits ...

Novel Recycling Method for Boron Removal from Silicon by Thermal Plasma Treatment Coupled with Steam and Hydrogen Gases

open access: yesMetals, 2017
Boron (B) separation from photovoltaic silicon (Si) remains a research challenge in the recycling field. In this study, a novel B-removal process was developed using thermal plasma treatment coupled with steam and hydrogen gases.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Experimental Continuous Casting of Nitinol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Commercially available nitinol is currently manufactured using classic casting methods that produce blocks, the processing of which is difficult and time consuming.

Influence of Calendering on the Variation in Material Compositions of the Composite Cathode of Polymer‐Based Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesEngineering Reports
High energy densities are vital to satisfy the increasing demand for battery storage systems for electric vehicles. One innovative battery type of the next generation is the solid‐state battery, which is characterized by the high expected energy density.

The Effect of Cooling Rate on Properties of Intermetallic Phase in a Complex Al-Si Alloy

open access: yesArchives of Foundry Engineering, 2016
The cooling rate is one of the main tools available to the process engineer by means of which it is possible to influence the crystallisation process. Imposing a desired microstructure on a casting as early as in the casting solidification phase widens ...

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Analysis of Gap Formation in the Casting of Energetic Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The problem of undesirable separation of the cast material from the mold in the casting of energetic materials is investigated. Comprehensive models are developed to simulate the heat and mass transfer processes during melt casting of energetic materials,

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...
