CAT Tool: A Technical Wonder or A Vase?---An Empirical Study of CAT Tools

2019 14th International Conference on Computer Science & Education (ICCSE), 2019
Based on an empirical study of computer assisted translation (CAT) tools, this paper proves that CAT tools are feasible, efficient and convenient, though they have limitations in usage and problems for beginners. In a word, CAT tools are technical wonders which can help translators do numerous things to reduce their work load.

CAT Tools in an Academic Environment

Target. International Journal of Translation Studies, 1999
AbstractMany universities have now incorporated commercially available translators ' workbench-style systems into their translator-training programmes. But, when it comes to computer-aided translation (CAT), the university's role need not be confined to teaching students how to operate some third party's system; rather new CAT tools open up whole new ...

Robust Design by Support of CAT Tools

Volume 2: 24th Design Automation Conference, 1998
Abstract This paper describes how currently available tools for computer aided tolerancing (CAT), can be used in a two step procedure to increase the robustness of a design and when allocating proper tolerances. The first step is to increase geometric robustness by minimizing the number of parameters controlling a critical

Translators in the Loop: Understanding How they Work with CAT Tools

Proceedings of the EACL 2014 Workshop on Humans and Computer-assisted Translation, 2014
The research that we have been carrying out at translators’ workplaces over the past few years has provided indications that some CAT tools are not being used to their full potential or are even being ignored by the users they were (or should have been) designed for.

Computer aided test (CAT) tool for mixed signal SOCs

18th International Conference on VLSI Design held jointly with 4th International Conference on Embedded Systems Design, 2005
This paper introduces a computer-aided-test (CAT) tool for mixed signal SOC designs. A new DFT strategy has been developed to make the testing scheme digitally compliant. The final DFT solution is generated through scheduling algorithms. The mixed signal cores have been accessed through specially design mechanisms (switches). Extensive experiments have
