Surface Electronic State Mediates Proton Transfer at Metal Nanoscale Interface for Catalytic Hydride Reduction of −NO2 to −NH2

open access: yes, 2021
Concerted electron and proton transfer is a key step for the reversible conversion of molecular hydrogen in both heterogeneous nanocatalysis and metalloenzyme catalysis. (Gabor A. Somorjai, et al.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Label-Free Colorimetric Detection of Mercury (II) Ions Based on Gold Nanocatalysis

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Herein, a label-free colorimetric nanosensor for Hg(II) is developed utilizing the hindering effect of Hg(II) on the kinetic aspect of gold nanoparticle (AuNPs) growth on the surface of gold nanostars (AuNSs).

Studies on the Catalytic Reductive Aminolysis. V

open access: yesJournal of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan, 1958
The R-A reactions have been carried out on carbonyl compounds, such as glyoxal, pyruvaldehyde (methylglyoxal), acetoin, and acetol acetate, in the presence of ammonia yielded 85% of imidazole (mp 88-90°C) as a main product from glyoxal and large amount of ethylene glycol as a neutral by-product.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

An investigation into catalysts to improve the low temperature performance of an SCR

open access: yes, 2009
Selective catalytic reduction with NH3 is considered as one of the most effective technologies controlling NOx emission. Metal Fe based catalysts were used in the investigation to improve the low temperature performance of NOx conversion. The temperature

Catalytic reduction of SO2 with CO over supported iron catalysts

open access: yes, 2006
Iron oxides supported on several types of carriers (gamma-Al2O3, HZSM-5, SiO2, and MgO) were investigated for the catalytic reduction of SO2 by CO. The catalytic tests show that the activity of the catalysts followed the order Fe2O3/gamma-Al2O3 > Fe2O3 >

Multidimensional applications of nitrogen-doped carbon dots from waste biomass

open access: yesSustainability Science and Technology
Nitrogen doped carbon dots (CDs) were prepared using a simple eco-friendly hydrothermal method from jackfruit peel. The prepared CDs emitted blue fluorescence and characterization by standard techniques revealed the presence of surface functional groups.

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.
