Stimuli‐responsive hydrogels: An intelligent tool for wound management

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
For chronic and complex wounds, this review focuses on intelligent hydrogels capable of responding to wound microenvironmental cues (e.g., pH, enzymes) or external stimuli (e.g., light, electricity). These advanced materials enable the dynamic regulation of drug release and real‐time monitoring of healing progression, thereby offering innovative ...

Comparative Analysis of the Incidence, Prevalence, and Survival of 8 Types of Parkinsonism in a Population‐Based Study with 367 Million Person Years of Observation over 21 Years

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Findings are contradictory regarding changes in the incidence and prevalence of Parkinson's disease (PD) over time; data for other parkinsonian disorders are rare. Objectives To analyze temporal trends in the incidence and prevalence of eight parkinsonisms (PD, MSA, PSP, CBS, DLB, vascular parkinsonism, drug‐induced parkinsonism ...

Properties of catechol oxidase from the snow crab.

open access: yesNIPPON SUISAN GAKKAISHI, 1981
A catechol oxidase (EC 1.10.3.1) was extracted from the gills of the snow crab, Chionoecetes opilio, and purified by ammonium sulfate fractionation, ion exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose, and gel filtration on Sepharose 6B. Two active components (E-I and E-II) were obtained.

Considerations for Initiation and Maintenance of Foslevodopa/Foscarbidopa for Advanced Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background As Parkinson's disease (PD) progresses, motor fluctuations become increasingly difficult to manage with oral medications. Foslevodopa/foscarbidopa (LDp/CDp), delivered as a continuous 24‐h/day subcutaneous infusion, offers continuous levodopa delivery and stable plasma levodopa levels that reduce motor fluctuations. LDp/CDp has been

Effect on Dyskinesia of the Early Combination of Amantadine to Levodopa‐Therapy in Parkinson's Disease: A Randomized, Placebo‐Controlled Study (PREMANDYSK)

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Investigate the efficacy of immediate‐release (IR) amantadine in reducing the risk of peak‐dose dyskinesia in early Parkinson's disease (PD) as add‐on to levodopa. Background While the use of amantadine to manage dyskinesia in PD is well supported by controlled clinical trials, data on its efficacy in patients without motor ...
