?-Catenin is overexpressed in acute myeloid leukemia and promotes the stabilization and nuclear localization of ß-catenin

open access: yes, 2013
Canonical Wnt signaling regulates the transcription of T-cell factor (TCF)-responsive genes through the stabilization and nuclear translocation of the transcriptional co-activator, ß-catenin.

Hypoxia‐Induced Histone Lactylation Promotes Ferroptosis in Cardiomyocytes via the Wnt/β‐Catenin Pathway

open access: yesKaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences
This study investigated the effects of histone lactylation on ferroptosis in hypoxia‐induced cardiomyocytes. A hypoxia model was established in AC16 cells treated with 2‐Deoxy‐D‐glucose (2‐DG, a glucose analogue), ferrostatin‐1 (Fer‐1, a selective ...

Aberrant nuclear localization of β-catenin without genetic alterations in β-catenin or Axin genes in esophageal cancer

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2007
Background β-catenin is a multifunctional protein involved in two apparently independent processes: cell-cell adhesion and signal transduction. β-catenin is involved in Wnt signaling pathway that regulates cellular differentiation and proliferation.

Activation of ERBB4 Pathway Inhibits Pathological Transdifferentiation of Lung Epithelial Progenitors into CD66c+ Basal Cells in Severe Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In fibrotic distal lung regions, CD66c+ basal cells emerge as a pathological state. Using human distal lung organoids, this study identifies CD66c+ basal cells as a pro‐fibrotic state arising through transdifferentiation from secretory, AT2, and basal cells.

Beta-Catenin Expression and Mutation in Adult and Pediatric Wilms' Tumors

open access: yes, 2009
Wilms' tumor is the most common pediatric renal neoplasm, but its occurrence in adults is very rare. In contrast to pediatric Wilms' tumor ( PWT), very little is known about the pathogenesis of adult Wilms' tumor ( AWT).

SMAD4 Palmitoylation Drives a Metabolic‐Transcriptional Circuit to Promote Tumorigenesis and Confers Radiosensitivity in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies palmitoylation as a novel regulatory modification of SMAD4, mediated by ZDHHC22/APT2. It activates fatty acid synthesis, creating a self‐reinforcing SMAD4–FASN–palmitate feedback loop that drives pancreatic cancer growth and enhances radiotherapy sensitivity.

Inhibition of SIRT7 Overcomes Radioresistance in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors by Reactivating MEN1 Expression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors frequently silence MEN1 through epigenetic mechanisms. Here, SIRT7 recruits DNMT1 to the MEN1 promoter, drives hypermethylation, and enhances DNA repair. Inhibiting SIRT7 restores MEN1, reduces MRN complex abundance, impairs double‐strand break repair, and sensitizes PanNET models to radiation, supporting SIRT7 as a ...

Nanog safeguards early embryogenesis against global activation of maternal β-catenin activity by interfering with TCF factors.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2020
Maternal β-catenin activity is essential and critical for dorsal induction and its dorsal activation has been thoroughly studied. However, how the maternal β-catenin activity is suppressed in the nondorsal cells remains poorly understood.

Functional Mapping of Neurodevelopmental Disease Pathways to Key Neurodevelopmental Processes Represented in the Developmental Neurotoxicity In Vitro Testing Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human‐relevant methods are essential for modern chemical safety assessment. This study helps define the capabilities and boundaries of an in vitro testing battery for developmental neurotoxicity by exploring its biological applicability domain. By linking neurodevelopmental disease‐related pathways to key neurodevelopmental processes, the work enhances

TSPYL5 Promotes Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Metastasis by Antagonizing USP10‐Mediated PTEN Stabilization to Unleash a ZEB1‐Dependent EMT Program

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The hyperactivation of PI3K/AKT signaling in PTEN wild‐type triple‐negative breast cancer represents a clinical paradox. We delineate a novel post‐translational regulatory axis wherein the oncogene TSPYL5 competitively antagonizes the deubiquitinase USP10.
