Cavitation resistance of laser-sintered MS1 steel [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Sintering
This study focuses on the determination of cavitation rate for samples produced by Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) of MS1 maraging steel powder without any postprocessing thermal or mechanical treatment (as-built). The test samples, fabricated using an EOSINT M280 machine in a nitrogen atmosphere, were evaluated for their cavitation resistance ...

Destruction Mechanism of ZnAl4 as Cast Alloy Subjected to Cavitational Erosion Using Different Laboratory Stands

open access: yesArchives of Foundry Engineering, 2016
The main reason of a cavitational destruction is the mechanical action of cavitation pulses onto the material’s surface. The course of cavitation destruction process is very complex and depends on the physicochemical and structural features of a material.

Cavitation resistance of talc-reinforced pyrophyllite ceramics [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings - 56th International October Conference on Mining and Metallurgy - zbornik radova
The paper describes the effects of changing the properties of pyrophyllite ceramics reinforced with different proportions of talc (%): 10; 20; 30. Pyrophyllite powders with a grain size of 20 mm and talc powders with a grain size of 15 mm were homogenized, pressed and sintered at a temperature of 1200⁰C.

Cavitation erosion testing of different cavitation-resistent materials and coatings using the cavitating jet method

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2019
An experimental test circuit was built with submerged nozzle with diameter 1.2 mm and inlet pressure 200 bar. Several specimens of different cavitation resistant materials used for hydraulic turbines (e.g. 13Cr4Ni) and coatings (e.g. tungsten and chromium carbides) were tested.
