The Chemokine CCL2 Protects Against Methylmercury Neurotoxicity
Industrial pollution due to heavy metals such as mercury is a major concern for the environment and public health. Mercury, in particular methylmercury (MeHg), primarily affects brain development and neuronal activity, resulting in neurotoxic effects ...

Endogenous Engineering Reprograms Extracellular Vesicles for Enhanced Therapeutic Function
This review explains how Extracellular vesicles‐producing cells can be endogenously engineered to load therapeutic proteins and nucleic acids. We summarize physiological and genetic strategies that harness native sorting pathways for selective cargo loading.

CD11b+CD43hiLy6Clo splenocyte‐derived macrophages exacerbate liver fibrosis via spleen–liver axis
A population of splenic monocytes migrate into the liver and shift to macrophages, which account for the exacerbation of liver fibrosis. Abstract Background and Aims Monocyte‐derived macrophages (MoMFs), a dominant population of hepatic macrophages under inflammation, play a crucial role in liver fibrosis progression.

CCL2 upregulation by Wnt5a in macrophages.
(A) and (B) Real-time PCR and ELISA showed that CCL2 mRNA expression and protein secretion was upregulated by transfection with Wnt5a expression vector ...

ABSTRACT Despite the transformative impact of cancer immunotherapies such as immune checkpoint blockade, durable clinical responses remain limited. Increasing evidence indicates that antitumor immunity is governed not only by the tumor microenvironment, but also by systemic immune regulation mediated by peripheral immune organs. Among these, the spleen

CHIN117 is a dual cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CYSLTR1) antagonist and G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1) agonist. In the liver, GPBAR1 and CYSLTR1 are coexpressed by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), HSCs, circulating monocytes/macrophages, and liver resident macrophages (Kupffer cells).

CCL2/CCR2 Regulates the Tumor Microenvironment in HER-2/neu-Driven Mammary Carcinomas in Mice.
Chronic inflammation is a hallmark of cancer. Inflammatory chemokines, such as C-C chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2), are often present in tumors but their roles in cancer initiation and maintenance are not clear.

Mechanisms of Pericyte‐Mediated Cancer Metastasis
Pericytes play multifarious roles in promoting cancer metastasis by facilitating metastatic cancer cell dissemination, circulating tumor cell survival, tissue extravasation, premetastatic niche formation, and metastatic tumor growth. These cells have intertwined interactions with vascular endothelial cells to modulate cancer cell behavior and ...

ABSTRACT Healthy pelvic floor muscles (PFMs) are essential for proper pelvic floor function. The biggest risk factor for PFM dysfunction is injury sustained during vaginal childbirth, yet the factors that facilitate or impair PFM recovery from birth injury remain unknown.

Pertussis toxin does not inhibit CCL2 uptake.
Selected frames from time-lapse video microscopy (Movie S8) of migrating human monocytes recorded at 37°C. Monocytes were pretreated with 2 µg/ml Bordetella Pertussis toxin (PTX) for 2 h.
