TLR9 ligand induces the generation of CD20+ plasmablasts and plasma cells from CD27+ memory B-cells
Plasma cells have a heterogeneous phenotype in humans. While bone marrow plasma cells are CD20-CD138+, tonsil plasma cells are CD20+CD138+/- and peripheral plasmablasts are CD20-CD138-.

Abstract Accurate quantification of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells is essential for monitoring post‐infusion CART expansion and persistence and for real‐time clinical decision‐making. Multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) enables rapid, live‐cell detection with absolute quantification and concurrent immunophenotypic characterization. This review

To identify roles of RNA binding proteins (RBPs) in the differentiation or survival of antibody secreting plasma cells we performed a CRISPR/Cas9 knockout screen of 1213 mouse RBPs for their ability to affect proliferation and/or survival, and the ...

Characterization of potential CD138 negative myeloma "stem cells"
Syndecan-1 is a heparan sulfate proteoglycan expressed by both normal and multiple myeloma (MM) plasma cells. Matsui et al. [1][1] reported the identification of a potential MM “stem cell” resembling less differentiated post germinal center B cells.

Abstract Manual gating for plasma cell (PC) identification in multiparametric flow cytometry (MFC) is time‐consuming and operator‐dependent, especially when PCs are scarce. Artificial intelligence approaches such as unsupervised clustering (e.g., FlowSOM) map high‐dimensional data that still require expert interpretation.

Natural killer (NK) cells are part of the first line of defense that rapidly respond to malignant transformed cells. Chimeric antigen receptor- (CAR-) engineered NK cells, although are still at the preliminary stage, have been shown to be alternative to ...

Generation of B and plasma cells involves several organs with a necessary cell trafficking between them. A detailed phenotypic characterization of four circulating B-cell subsets (immature-, naïve-, memory- B-lymphocytes and plasma cells) of 106 healthy adults was realized by multiparametric flow cytometry.

The multiple hit model of infantile and epileptic spasms: The 2025 update
Abstract Objective Infantile and epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS) is a developmental and epileptic encephalopathy manifesting with epileptic spasms and poor neurodevelopmental outcomes. There is an urgent need for the development of more effective and tolerated therapies.

Early differentiated CD138(high) MHCII+ IgG+ plasma cells express CXCR3 and localize into inflamed kidneys of lupus mice. [PDF]
Humoral responses are central to the development of chronic autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus. Indeed, autoantibody deposition is responsible for tissue damage, the kidneys being one of the main target organs.
