Image_3_Probiotic Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG Induces Alterations in Ileal Microbiota With Associated CD3-CD19-T-bet+IFNγ+/- Cell Subset Homeostasis in Pigs Challenged With Salmonella enterica Serovar 4,[5],12:i:-.TIF

open access: yes, 2019
Salmonella enterica serovar 4,[5],12:i:- (S. 4,[5],12:i:-) is an emerging foodborne pathogen causing salmonellosis in humans and animals. Probiotic Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) is an effective strategy for controlling enteric infections through ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

T cells expressing CD19-specific Engager Molecules for the Immunotherapy of CD19-positive Malignancies [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
AbstractT cells expressing chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) or the infusion of bispecific T-cell engagers (BITEs) have shown antitumor activity in humans for CD19-positive malignancies. While BITEs redirect the large reservoir of resident T cells to tumors, CAR T cells rely on significant in vivo expansion to exert antitumor activity.

CD34+CD19-CD22+ B-cell progenitors might underlie phenotypic escape in patients treated with CD19-directed therapies

open access: yes, 2022
CD19-directed immunotherapies have revolutionized the treatment of advanced B-ALL. Despite initial impressive rates of complete remission (CR) many patients ultimately relapse.

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

CAR T-cell therapy is effective for CD19-dim B-lymphoblastic leukemia but is impacted by prior blinatumomab therapy

open access: yesBlood Advances, 2019
: Tisagenlecleucel, a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell product targeting CD19 is approved for relapsed/refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). However, the impact of pretreatment variables, such as CD19 expression level, on leukemic

CAR therapy: the CD19 paradigm [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 2015
Twenty-five years after its inception, the genetic engineering of T cells is now a therapeutic modality pursued at an increasing number of medical centers. This immunotherapeutic strategy is predicated on gene transfer technology to instruct T lymphocytes to recognize and reject tumor cells.
